    Good evening,
Was wondering if anyone has an idea when directv will be offering the hr20 in the Boston area? I have called and they have said try beginning of October. Has anyone heard anything more definitive?

    Thanks

    Tom

Keep calling. I believe they are in your area, if they are in Chicago and Artlanta, St. Louis, etc.

    Hudson, FL...
I had one installed on Tues. Was expecting a H10-250 but installer brought the HR20, so D* installers have them!!

I got one at BB last week in Plymouth and had it activated immediately. D* credited $200 of the $299 price. I still plan to swap my HR10-250 for another but will wait until the installers catch up.

Bought it at BB in Marlboro yesterday. I activated it, but without HD for the moment. The 5LNB dish install is scheduled for Monday 9/26.

Is it pretty standard of them to give out the 200 credit right now?

Yes, you just need to speak with retention.

Thanks guys...will call again. Didn't want to have to go through BestBuy as they told me it was a free swap out with the new dish.

Just ordered the HR20 from DirecTV calling customer retention. Got it for free with a 2 year committment. Will show on the bill as three payments of 66.33 and have already been issued a 199.00 credit. Includes install and new 5 Lnb dish. I'm happy - hope it works!

Shawn, do you have NFL Sunday Ticket? Did you have an HR10 before?

I'm trying to get an HR20 plus dish for anything less than $200, and two calls to retention have given me bupkis so far. But I don't have sunday ticket, and I don't have an HR10. But I have been a member for a little under 5 years. I don't care if it is $200, but I'm not paying $300. :) I mean, new members get the HR20 for $200, but the loyal existing customers get to pay $300.

Got mine installed on saturday. Other than the guy being two hours late (scheduled 1-5 didn't get there until 7) install went well. Took him about 2 hours to install the dish and swap out the multiswitch (I had already run the cables to the HR20) and he left me an extra length of cable since I said I might want to move the multiswitch into my basement from where it is mounted on the back of the house.

It was late and he hadn't gotten to removing the old dish yet, but promised to be back early in the week to finish. Even had me hold off on signing the work order because he "wasn't done yet."

All in all a good experience.
