So far I haven't seen anything else about this except from TVWeek:
The big question is how will D* & E* handle this challenge?

See "Movies on Demand" on DISH equipment ...
DISH can predownload a movie to a million receivers easily. HD is possible on the 722.

A good plug for the truly outstanding 722, particularly with it's nearly unlimited storage. But the real issue is going to be contracts with the studio distribution folks. And of course whether the DRM will be sufficient to allow that. It appears the 722 can handle that, but I don't know about any other E* or D* dvr.

I'm sure Comcast's method will require top of the line boxes too! :)
