I am a current DISH subscriber (a little over six years.) I own a 510 and a 501. I am under a commitment to DISH until November. Is it possible to switch to DHA?
According to my math it would be cheaper to lease a 522 than it would be to continue with my setup for AT180 and locals.
My current cost per month is $62.96, if I pay annually it drops to $59.96, but if I switch to DHA it would be $57.97.

DHA is a sign up promotion so you can't "switch" to it. If you've been a customer than you can take up one of their dish in it promos and that will get you a leased receiver.

You can get a 522 as of Feb 1st through the DishNItUp program, which I have verified is available on the claim, tho I have not gotten specifics about it yet. You can then deactivate your original receivers and sell them. However, the 522 will be leased and must be returned when you disconnect.

thanks for the info. I called DISH and they offered me the 522 for $99, but told me that since I was not a DHA customer I would be charged a $5 per month lease fee even if the 522 was my only box.
That being said, I guess I'll stick with what I have. I must admit that I am slightly chapped that leasing a 522 through the DHA is cheaper than leasing when not in the DHA and I cannot become a DHA customer.

The 522 is a dvr so the $5 a month will be a DVR fee not a rental. Or was this in addition to the $5 DVR fee?

When I was with Dish I had a 508 under DHP and wanted to upgrade to 522 but they wouldn't let me so I got my 2 tuner dvr (with tivo!) when I switched to Directv last April.

I still have Dish via a bought 301 that I got used for Sky Angel and Superstations and a few alacart stations. I use a stand alone Tivo for that.

your monthly rate would stay the same cause you pay 4.99 for your second rcvr and $4.98 for the dvr service fee for the 510 not the 508/501 if you replaced both with the 522 you'll rate would increase .1 cent thats it and all in warrenty cause its leased so why not

The DIU is not more expensive than DHA under DHA there is a $5 lease fee applied to all receivers plus the $4.98 DVOD fee for each DVR plus a $4.99 duplication fee for al 2 Tuner receivers that do not have a phone line connected to them. Under DHA the first receiver lease fee is hidden in the programming cost it is $5 higher than the programming costs for non DHA customers. :)

According to DISH's site the package price for AT180w/locals for a 522 is $57.97. That is a cheaper price than I am able to get with DIU. With DIU AT180w/locals and a 522 is $62.97.
**the screen shot reflects a $10 price break the first 3 months.
