You need it as it supplies power to the LNB. I have the same setup other than the WCCK being a CCK. If I unplug mine the signal is lost to all receivers in the house.

It only needs the wifi. It has an internal deca. And it's disabled of anything has been in the Ethernet port in back of receiver.

OP has an HR21, no internal DECA.

And just for the record the 208.67.222.222 DNS has a response time half of what you have now. Your ISP's DNS server is usually the slower choice since they are serving so many local customers and get flooded sometimes.

I would have spent all this time trying to hide the long ethernet cable running through my house that I knew worked. :hurah:

Do you have a shot of the WCCK?

The rectangular box is or should be the PI for the SWiM.
The DECA doesn't look to be needed as the WCCK can connect directly to the HR21.

Well of course on site is the easiest. The real challenge is here or over the phone with no equipment to reference. I have actually successfully done it by memory several times. With no manuals, photos, anything. ;)

I don't know if it will help but I could get my web cam hooked up and we could get on yahoo or something and try and trouble shoot that way. I will take a picture of the cck

I liked having ethernet cables running through the house. Made it seem high tech. :p

Please do take a shot of it and then I'll tell you what to get rid of.

But OnDemand can be done with just a simple ethernet cable to the back right? The CCK is mostly for multi-receiver setups right?
