Hello, I have the "entertainment classic" package right now. I am assuming that this is a discontinued package. My question is, will I be able to keep this package for as long as I want, or does it expire or run out at a certain time and I will be forced to choose a new package? This is the only package I have had since inception so I don't know how this all works, thanks.

Actually all packages are subject to change. Directv can move you off of a discontinued package if they so choose.

that applies to almost everything on Directv, this does not mean that is applied to everybody. is just a clause for the "just in case" there many folks here with very, very old packages

Yes, but you made it sound like Directv can't remove his package. That simply isn't true.

If they can change/ cancel your account, they surely can change your package if they choose to.

I've only ever see such when accepting upgrades or free offers though.

You can keep your grandfathered package for as long as you like, just don't expect credits or add ons to the discontinued package, without making you change package. Only thing you can't do is add Extra Pack in your account online without calling directly.

I've had a grandfathered Premier with no DVR charge for quite a few years now.

My point is that they can remove you from a package, not that they have.

and my point is that they can "take" your receivers, cancel your package, cancel you account, close your account, remove channels, etc, just because the can, does not mean they will actually do it... So I still don't get your point.....
