I just looked her up. The mid level package to have the song customized is very reasonable (considering how much I've already spent on the display). I will definitely be doing that for next year unless she can fix me up in the next couple of weeks.

That explains what looked like half a controller :)

I always say, it's not the number of channels, its how you use them. I've seen extremely well done 16 channel sequences, and really bad 192 :)

This is one of my biggest fears, though fortunately like Chris, I have not had issues when I've run mine.

I intersperse the display with voiceovers reminding people to not turn around in driveways or have their radio too loud, but I always know that will only keep the more considerate people behaving.

For those interested, Judy Pancoast (the lady that sings "House On Christmas Street) is running a special on her song customizing and voiceovers. I have been meaning to get this done so I ordered the deluxe version myself. My visitors are going to freak when they hear the actual street name in the song. :)

    Very cool! Thanks Chris!

And as a benefit, it's the one video guaranteed to not get pulled from Youtube, at least legitimately. She has absolutely no issue with them (it's her best form of marketing for the song, plus these customizations), and there's no record label to say otherwise.

And so begins another year. We start hanging lights this weekend. With the addition of the cutsom song and a new Merry Christmas banner, I will need to do some reprograming. Not fun since every song will need to be altered in some way since I'm taking a channel away from the candy canes to feed the banner.

During Halloween, we had several neighbors ask us when the lights are going up. I guess I'm comitted for this year. :)

Will post video when everything is done.

Glad to hear it. For me, I've seemed to be in a Christmas funk the past few years...and the stores going to Christmas mode earlier and earlier hasn't helped.

I do keep my license updated, though looks like I'll need to buy a renewal for the next version if I get back into it.

The other day I set up and quick down and dirty website (blog) containing some videos of our Christmas Display. Nothing much there right now but over the next few weeks I plan to add a bunch of pictures of our setup and continue to develop the site with more information about how everything works. Should be fun.

Now that's a novel idea. Great videos. After seeing them my wife will chide me for not being as creative. Thanks for sharing Chris.

Okay so here is the pride and joy for this year's Christmas display. I also did a multi-camera shoot so you can see more details. Check out the customized lyrics. :)
