Clemens to Pitch DirecTV's Extra Innings

    DirecTV unveiled details and marketing plans for its 2002 MLB Extra Innings sports package Wednesday, an offering that will feature six-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens as its spokesman.

    Clemens will be featured in cross-channel television spots, print advertisements and assorted direct marketing vehicles throughout the Major League Baseball regular season in support of the package. In addition, Clemens will be the subject of in-depth interviews in MyDirecTV magazine and DirecTV - The Guide as well as on the weekly show DirecTV Sports This Week.

    MLB Extra Innings offers up to 35 out-of-market broadcasts a week during the Major League Baseball regular season at an early bird price of $139 for residential customers who sign up prior to March 31, and at a regular season price of $159 for residential customers who sign up after April 1. In addition, DirecTV will offer existing customers a free preview of 2001 MLB Extra Innings from April 1 through April 7.
