Coax to VGA or DVI?

Hi all-

This DT setup is in a school's front office. The principal wants to replace the old TV in the front office with a flat screen.

Is there a COAX to VGA/DVI that would manage this? On the back of the DT modem, there is a set of RCA jacks, both in and out along with an S-Video port.

Any ideas on how to move forward with this wonderful project? :>)

Thanks,
Mark

please don't speak to others but speak only on your behalf. There are obviously more ways than one to skin a cat, let's leave the scrutiny for the TS who was the one to ask for options. You should task yourself to offer an option instead of shutting down those who have offered help on this topic.

I think it's pretty clear I agree with the suggestion of getting a tv as easily the best solution. And it seems everyone else agrees as well. I am not going to offer a solution that doesn't make any sense or would be clearly much more difficult to work in someone's particular environment just to make sure the person knows there's more than one way.

I personally agree with trh in post #19. To me starting from post #1 its never been clear from the TS a computer is even involved here.

Just the ability to feed a D12 SD receiver to a computer monitor to be mounted on an office wall over a VGA or DVI connection.

I agree with this as well. :)

of course there is more than one way to skin a cat other you like it or not. Let's leave the last word to the TS.

Can you tell us what connectors are on the monitor, besides the VGA/DVI? Also, is the audio required to work? Most "monitors" do not have speakers built in. This monitor may have speakers built in. My suggestion would be a standard RF to composite (red, white audio and yellow video) converter. Not clear if you need to run new cable from the receiver to the monitor location or if you will be using existing cable. If you can use the same cable, then RF in to the D12 and Out to TV via coax cable to coax/rf to composite converter is simple and relatively inexpensive. $15 or so. Depends on the capability of the new monitor, etc.
