Comcast gives CSN to Verizon FIOS because they are not a satellite company. FIOS distributes it's signal over fiber lines...and as such, they are entitled to carry the channel. That falls within the "loophole" guidelines.

No. It's a federal issue, but local congressmen have had an "interest" (Senator Arlen, for example)

but not TCN / CSN Philly + sd or HD.

also RCN Chicago used to have CSN CHI + HD and CSN CHI HD.

But now just have CSN CHI HD and CSN CHI + SD.

According multichannel news there seems to be a ton of restructuring going down in comcastland due to the impending merger. I wonder what, if anything this could mean for csn Philly coming to D*?

Probably nothing. Unless the FCC makes it a condition for the merger, it's going to be quite a while.

You guys may as well give up! CSN Philly will NEVER become avail. It's only a dream. Comcrap will keep making it impossible. The only way DTV or E could ever possibly force Comcrap to start thinking twice about CSN Philly is if BOTH DTV and E would stop carrying ALL of Comcraps junk channels such as G4.Without DTV and E carrying all those junk channels they would all lose out. That is what DTV and E need to start doing to force Comcrap to start offering ALL their channels.

I love D* but as a Philadelphian they're really making it hard for me to stay after my contract is up in April. Shame really... D* does no favors for philadelphians and with me already being a fios Internet customer the decision is an easy one.. Cheaper tv and csn. I've waited for D* To show they give a sh!t about Philly sports fans and frankly I never see it..

EXACTLY!!!! You cannot blame DTV for this!!! If they could, they would be carrying CSN PHILLY now. Comcrap is being a pain in the ass about this and not letting anything happen. This is the same exact thing that Cox Cable had been doing all this time regarding SD4 which carries the SD Padres games. All of us SD Padres out of market fans have went thru the same EXACT issue as all the out of market Philly fans thanks to the two sorry ass cable companies: Cox and Comcrap.

I think if C* wants NBCU they're going to have to play nice with the satellite companys.

It's more then just those 2 channels.

CSN NW - comcast wants a very high rare (and may even want all D* subs to pay for it even ones out of area)

comcast network Philly - may be needed to get the CSN Philly + Games. RCN does not have it and miss out on the CSN Philly + Games.

Cox Sports Television - it's on dish but D* wanted to make a deal to get SD 4 for picking it up.

    CSS - Cable only

lots of there small cable only network are also not on sat tv.
