Maybe I can start watching CBS Evening News again later in June.

She's gone. Bernie Goldberg called this weeks ago on The O'reilly Factor.

Time to start speculation for a replacement I suppose. John Roberts has left CNN. Any connection?

I thought Couric was a bold choice at the time, but really wished they had given Bob Schieffer a shot at it instead. He could have anchored through 2012 and retired at 75. Would have been a nice way for him to end an impressive career.

    He went to Fox.

I really cannot remember the last time I watched one of the big three network news shows.

That's my thought on this as well. Growing up, Walter Cronkite was a staple. Now if a major news story breaks, most people already know more about it by the time 6:30 rolls around than they would learn from the coverage on the network news.

I never could stand her for some reason, was really glad when she left the Today show.

According to everyone in the know. Replacement will be Scott Pelley.

I don't think it really matters who anchors any of the mainstream media outlets. The liberal bias is ingrained in the big 3 and won't change. Those audiences are already lost to other media outlets and sources (have been for sometime).

I spoke with Scott Pelley. He would not talk about the possibility of taking the anchor chair at the CBS Evening News but he did say the CBS Evening News still has more viewers than CNN, HLN, Fox News and MSNBC combined. He says that's true even though the Evening News audience has eroded by 50 per cent in the past few years. Pelley says if you combine the viewing audiences for ABC's World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News and CBS, more than 20 million people watch every weeknight.
