One thing we can do. You know that USA Cricket association is trying to get cricket in USA. We can approach the president to ask him to make arransgement for DBS to show more cricket in lesser prices in USA. Otherwise, we immigrant are not going to support Cricket in USA.

CSR should of give you more information about the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. DirecTV has it exclusive and ready to hike the price between $250-$300 range. Does she even know pessimism exists in her company!

Well, I am going to buy today from Willow TV combo PAK-AUS and PAK-Eng package in $60. I hope there is no chance of showing PAK-ENG series in Willow cricket. Otherwise, I will be stupid to buy the combo package from willow TV.

I really wish that you didn't ned a 2nd dish or I would get the free cricket for the Champions League. With all the technology out there why do we need a 2nd dish...grr.

Does not matter for me what DirecTV does or will do with respect to cricket. I have asked them to disconnect Cricket Plus channel after the Ban Vs Eng ODI series. Unfortunately, they will not give any money back on cricket ticket package. So this year I will just watch only Champions league. However, after that I will never buy cricket ticket package and watch cricket on Willow TV via internet. It will be not as good as TV, but who is willing to be cheated by DirecTV.
I have sent a letter to USA cricket association head that we cannot see LIVE cricket here with a reasonable price.

BTW, I am handling even bigger cheater Dish Network. Unfortunately, they took whole year payment for the Zee Sports USA channel and so cannot do anyhting at this time. But asked them don't renew for the next year.
I have paid $249 for Zee sports, $300 cricket ticket and $14.99 per month on cricket plus = $730. I am so dumb and stupid. Anyways, nothing can be done now. Next year my resolution is no more money spent on Cricket to those cheater Sat companies.
I will buy all I want from Willow TV, and I think spending $200 I can see a lot compared to what I see this year from DirecTV and Dish.

I don't understand this stupid right issue.
One can understand why PAK vs AUS not shown. One can argue that this is considered as PAK's home game which DirecTV does not have the right.
However, if Aus tour of Eng and Ban tour of Eng can be shown then why PAK tour of Eng can not be shown? Is it possible that this PAK tour of Eng considered as PAK's home gme which DirecTV does not have the right?

Do you think I can sue DirecTV?
For four events, they took from us $300 as a package proce. Now they are giving Champions league free. So one who had bought all the four events individually need to spent $285 which is less than the package price. Normally, if you buy a packagae, you get way chaper than if had been bought individually. Here you are sepnding more buying the packagae, how is it possible?, may be only possible in a capitalist country like USA, I can bet this is not possible in any other country across our World.

After I bought 2010 CricketTicket, I called them and said, I am buying CricketTicket since last 2 years and any discount is possible..and they said..sure, We will give 10$ off for 6 months = 60$.

I think, I should call them now and say, most of the Tours are cancelled and DirecttV is not showing them due to CricketTicket (they show the tour even through Cricket Plus) and hence they should give me another 60$ off :) (That would be nice)..I dont mind paying 180$ to DirectTV for IPL and 20/20 Worldcup (which I saw)

By the way, I am still hoping that DirectTV CricketTicket for 2010 will show ASHES to be played in Australia next year....Somehow I have a feeling it will included in CricketTicket 2010. If they do and then show also, India's Tour of South Africa, I think, price was worth it.

Reading of the number of live games being shown on CricketPlus channel in recent times, I wrote to DirecTV through the loyal customer feedback page. I suggested that as many live matches were being shown in CricketPlus, it would be good if this channel was made available on one of the core satellites (101,110,119), as most of the Cricket Ticket telecasts are, in order to allow those without the big ugly international dish to enjoy the matches.

    Here's the response I received:

So was the past month an aberration never to be repeated, or is this just another CSR in the dark?

Note, like a good politician, that my original remark was not addressed!

The 95W satellite, used for intl programming including cricket, is not owned by DirecTV, but is rented. It apparently transmits its signal in a different format from all other DirecTV satellites. Hence, the LNB on the dish needs to be different, and a special multiswitch used to combine the feed from 95W and all the others. This is their stated logic. However, given the SlimLine dish now required for HD channels is as large, and covers only 4 degrees less of an arc, and receives signals in two different formats, I'm sure they could combine the two if there was the desire. I keep hoping its because that one day, when all the legacy HD channels are moved off 110, they'll move all the intl programming to sat110, and ditch 95W and its special dish/LNB altogether. But I've been hoping this for 4 years or more!

They always say that Cricket Ticket requires the international dish. This is so they can reserve the right to show some matches only on the 95 satellite, when there is not space to also show them on the core satellite 101.

I think, therefore, they will not sell the cricket ticket package without the international dish - in case they show some matches only on sat95, and then get people without the intl dish screaming at them because they can't see matches they paid for.

But, most series are also shown on sat 101 - channels 477-479 in recent times, and before that channels 117-119. I've always bought a few individual series that is less than the cost of the year Cricket Ticket subscription.

If they continue this trend, and show the games on 477-479, then it sounds like the Champions League T20 could be free to everyone with DirecTV.

[Note - I am definitely NOT saying that it will be free to everyone with DirecTV!!!]

Eng vs Ban 1st ODI is now LIVE both on cricket plus and cricket ticket channel, although matched with Ban are useless. I would have been more happy if they would show PAK matches. I believe more people will see PAK matches than Ban matches.

I'm not at home, so cannot confirm this - but the DirecTV website schedule listing is showing this match on both channel 498 (sat 101) and channel 2028 (sat 95) - however its not listed as showing on CricketPlus channel (2024) (although the CricketPlus.tv website does have it listed).

Is it "free" to people who already subscribed to Cricket Ticket? Or can anyone watch it for free? [Its not listed on the Cricket Ticket web page]

[Not that I'm interested in Eng v Bangladesh, but just trying to figure out what DirecTV is doing these days!]

do anyone think directv will cover Pak tour of Eng as they have shown Ban and Aus tour of Eng? I am asking because whether I should by combo pak package from willow tv. If directv shows pak tour of eng, I will not bother to buy anything from willow tv.

I am not quite sure who has the rights to what games nowadays. The Pak games vs Aus and Eng are considered Pak home games rights for which were not with Directv. What the status of this tour as far as TV rights are concerned I have no idea. It does seem like Directv has acquired rights for games in England. Methinks they don't consider the Bangla series as marquee and hence the "free" broadcast on Cricketplus rather than on CricketTicket (atleast for the tests, not sure about the ODIs). But then again, they showed England vs Australia ODIs on Cricketplus too. :)
As for India tour of SA and the Ashes in Aus, I thought they were a given but again Directv has thrown in wrench in the works with those and does not list either on their website.
Overall, things seem to be in too much flux nowadays. However, they are still miles ahead of Dish network.
