Cubs and White Sox fans outside of the Chicago DMA-

What channel do you get the WCIU games on (if at all)?

    Thanks!

If you are outside the DMA, you would have to have Extra Innings to get the games (typically, unless one of your other locals decides to pickup (and pay) for the game).

It would be in the 700's (actually game channel changes)

Thanks for the quick reply, Earl. Does the same apply to WGN games not carried on WGN America?

Yep, the same would apply there as well.
(Even though I think most that are WGN Local are on WGN America, but never validated)

FWIW WCIU Cubs/White Sox games are NOT available on Extra Innings, only WGN/CSN Chicago games are.

Yeah they are validated Earl. For instance we'll get WGN America commercials/station related breaks, etc.

I thought it was just the HD that wasn't avaialble, because WCIU wasn't available in HD... (but that is no longer the case as it is available)

What I ment by validated, as I never actually checked each game on WGN-9, vs WGN-America

It's doubly bad for us in Indiana.

The Sox and Cubs are our "home" teams, yet we don't receive WCIU at all.

So in a mess only MLB could create, we get no coverage of any of those "home team" games.

It's not only the MLB's mess but also the Feds mess as they created these stupid "locals" rules. It's pretty unfair in my area that Comcast can deliver Peoria, Quad City, and Chicago locals to their customers and Directv can only give me Chicago locals and none of the others because of the stupid laws. And yes I live within the spotbeam for those markets too.

But WCIU telecasts are carried online by MLB.TV and the MLB At Bat app...

But with D* you get WCIU HD right?

but comcast there does not have it.

also the line up for your area is odd

68 - 522 Comcast SportsNet vs 37 on all Chicago area systems
70 - 524 Comcast SportsNet Plus (SD) vs being on CLTV in Chicago land Does that channel work on the dta it does not in Chicago land they want $8/m or more per tv to get it.

285 Comcast Info Channel HD CSN + HD? same number as the rest of Chicago land

Chicago land has it's hd mixed with sd in the 100-300 area.

but 922 Comcast SportsNet HDTV VS 200 on all Chicago area systems

with rest of the hd in the 900 area.

Simplified. If you live in the Chicago DMA. You'd have to be able to get WCIU Locally to see the Cubs and White Sox. If you live outside the Chicago area and can't get WCIU, your only hope of seeing a Cubs or White Sox game would be from the other teams channel if it is carried by DirecTv on MLB Extra Innings.

I'm not so sure of the WCIU thing, at least down here. We rarely don't have the home-team Cubs announcers/broadcast for Cubs games here in TN. Sure, when national coverage has the game (ESPN/Fox national), we don't hear Len & Bob, but otherwise, we do.

Save for only when the Cubs play the Braves or Reds do we have to deal with all at, as those 2 teams are considered 'home' teams for this area of the country.

WCIU games are usually on Tues or Thurs?
