You need to consider which you are talking about. When DirecTV adds a new channel they put a banner up next to it and maybe a couple other places announcing the channel add. That's an excellent way of getting the word out, in conjunction with TV mail. Most people don't see paper fliers, and they are a waste when you can do it in the guide itself. I have often wondered why they don't have a splash screen when you first hit guide announcing a new channel after it is added. At channel 125 they list as banners all the movies that are already downloaded and sitting on your receiver waiting to be watched instantly. that's excellent as its right at the start of the ppv channels, and anyone surfing ppv would be interested in seeing these. Those don't show if you use a favorites list that does not include the 100 channel range where all the ppv channels are. I see very very few banners, as I use a favorites list. I have never seen any channel added to any of my favorites lists ever.
