World Premiere of "Dan Rather Reports" Set for November 14 On HDNet

Legendary Journalist Returns to Television With New Weekly News Program on HDNet

Dallas, TX - October 25, 2006 - "Dan Rather Reports," the new weekly news program produced and hosted by legendary broadcast journalist Dan Rather, will make its world premiere on HDNet Tuesday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET, it was announced today by Mark Cuban, Chairman and Co-founder of HDNet. As the weekly hour-long program's Global Correspondent, "Dan Rather Reports" will mark the return of Rather to television news, with his distinguished record as a premier news journalist.

Led by Executive Producer Wayne Nelson, "Dan Rather Reports" will feature hard-edged field reports, in-depth interviews and investigative pieces that emphasize accuracy, fairness and guts in their reporting. The program will cover topics including, but not limited to, politics, the environment, the global economy, and international affairs and conflicts.

The format of "Dan Rather Reports" will be dictated by the needs of individual stories. Each show will typically consist of multiple stories, but some shows will be devoted to a single, hour-long report.

"HDNet has given Dan Rather free rein to create a program that is built around his vision," said Cuban. "'Dan Rather Reports' will provide him with an extraordinary opportunity to report news that is not defined by corporate economics and that takes its cues from the stories themselves, not a pre-conceived structure."

One of the most accomplished news journalists of our time, Rather has covered virtually every major event in the world in the past 50 years. His resume reads like a history book, from his early local reporting in Texas on Hurricane Carla to his unparalleled work covering the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the civil rights movement; the White House and national politics; and wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, Yugoslavia and Iraq. Rather has more than earned his reputation as the "hardest working man in television journalism." A national poll released in August named him the second most popular television news and talk personality in a list compiled by Gallup.
