Has anyone else notice that temperature on the Deca's RG6 connection is extremely hot? So much so that you can barely touch it. Can this be normal?

Warm/hot, yes, but mine aren't so hot I have a hard time holding on to them.

The 5+ watts has to go somewhere.

Mine are medium-warm-hot. My Cen-Tech IR thermometer (made in China, purchased at Harbor Freight for 26.95 so you know its a high quality instrument) says its about 90F.

Would guess that's what mine are too.
Since these are around a 1 milliwatt transmitter, I'd not surprised.

    ok.....thanks!

I have a lot of home electronics and I have never encountered a properly working component so hot to the touch.

If everyone says a hot temperature is to be expected than so be it!
