Well I called them back. Got somebody that cared. they are going to go through some back doors and try to get the right receiver. Bacause I told them that would keep ordering receivers till they got it right. guess I'll wait and see what happens

Although your statement is true, functionally they are the same, I have to disagree with you. If you bought a new pc with a core i7 processor and while under warranty it died. So you call the company and they said no problem, I'm sending a replacement. Then the box arrives and you opened it and it has a pc with a core i5 processor, what would you think about that? Functionally there both the same, so I guess you would be fine with the replacement?

Yea well I told them how would it be if they ordered a lincoln car from a dealer and when they went to pick it up they had a ford pinto waiting for them. thats the way I see it. If they had set me up with a HR23 when I first signed up their would be no problem on my part. But it wasn't my fault their equipment was defective. all i want is what I had to start with plus the fact the bigger units won't fit on my shelf

Similar analogy, but whats a Ford Pinto, is it like a Ford Focus? ;) Hopefully you will get the HR24. Contrary to what everyone says, its possible for them to get you an HR24 as a replacement, if they really want to. You just might have to go through other channels to get it.

And one more time, a 1969 VW Bug is "functionally the same" as a brand new Cadillac. Say this misleading line of BS enough and some folks will actually believe it.

My example is a bit more extreme than yours, but I got your point easily and I'm sure you got mine. I liked yours, by the way.

I recently had my HR24-500 replaced through the protection plan and told the rep I was concerned about receiving a different model. I was informed that the protection plan department can request the replacement be the exact model as the defective unit and the request is honored unless that model is out of stock.

Kinda like the 22-100. Easily one of the worst DVRs made. I think. There was nothing wrong with the Edsel. Just butt ugly. I used to drive a friend's a lot and I liked it. Fast, but it gulped gas. Comfortable, back seat was like a sofa.

I've been told the same thing by the Case Management Group and I've had several replaced and always got a 24 as a replacement. Another good reason to join the Protection Plan.

And there you have it, the infamous HR24 that they can't promise you, but they did. Hope you are now back up and running. Good job standing your ground for an equal replacement.

Great! Now join the Protection Plan and you shouldn't have to go thru this again.

He did well. And just think, the HR24 is functionally equal to the HR he lost!

When you called the first time, did you ask to be routed to the PP?

The PP folks should not have treated you in that manner. They used to have very knowledgeable CSRs, but I think the Case Management Group has been adding to their numbers by acquiring the most knowledgeable CSRs.
