My HR21-700 receiver just went out and DTV shipped me a replacement. I opened the box and found an HR21-100C-R. Can anyone tell me the difference and if I should call them to correct the mistake?
    Thanks, John

No difference, other than the actual manufacturer of the receiver. Both were built to the same specs, and have only very minor internal differences.

What mistake is there? They do not swap model for model unfortunately you get what they have.

The difference looks to be exactly 600.
Seriously though, as others stated, no difference.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Somehow, that does not give me a lot of confidence.

I have a 100 and two 700s and I don't see any difference. If you get a Deca installed for whole home the 100 requires an extra dongle on the back. For ethernet wired WH they both work great.

Sure not the best thing to say. I think the 21-700 was the best of the 21 series, easily the most dependable. If I had never seen a 20-700 or a 24, I would consider the 21-700 the best HR that D* ever came out with.

I believe it's the HR20-100 that requires special connections for DECA use.

I misread the original post. Senility again.
