Same here. I am always happy when a new channel becomes available, because there is an audience that will benefit from that channel, even if it's not my household.
Typical Swanni-like article...Take any possible chance to lambast DIRECTV. A new channel with new programming is launching, but he'd rather cry about HD basics. He writes all that drivel and ends with:
By the way, Punch promises to introduce a lineup of new programming rather than repeats and retreads from other networks.

I'm not a Swanni fan by any means, but he's correct on the whole HD basic issue. DirecTV is falling behind Dish and others right now in HD offerings. AMC, BBC America GSN, DIY, the Cooking Channel, and Style are six major channels off the top of my head that could be added in HD that would appease many customers.
I love D* as much as anyone else on this board, but it's time for them to step up to the plate and increase their HD offerings before they fall further behind the competition. When a company begins to rest on its laurels, that's a sign of upcoming troubles.
I'm so amused that many of you are saying you won't watch this channel, because your own desired channel is "better". Don't worry: While you are busy putting down this channel, there is someone else busy out there saying your desired channel is a waste of bandwidth..... Balance is achieved.

Nobody? Really? Again, What's any of that have to do with adding a new SD channel?
PunchTV isn't keeping anyone's HD channel from being added. It may come as a surprise to some of you, but the TV station world doesn't revolve around your wants.
