There's a program listing on the NBC Olympics website. So far today it hasn't been 100% accurate, but I've been using it to see what's coming up later in the day.

    Olympics TV Guide

It would be nice if they did quick promos during the breaks, telling you what's on each channel, but the local NBC affiliates probably wound't like them encouraging you to switch to Bravo for tennis or MSNBC for women's soccer.

Bummer D* didn't map the channels. Best source for what's on now is the NBC Olympics iPad/iPhone app. It is a little buggy but otherwise helpful.

The other thing you can do is create a customized favorite channel grouping. Works well.

I wish D* would have put all the channels that are showing Olympic coverage in a row from 750 on up. Didn't they do that last time? An Olympic mix channel would have been nice too.

I turned on 4 separate channels, and every channel I switched to was showing commercials.
Switched to HLN, and they were showing commercials. Switched to CNN and they were showing commercials.

Got pissed off, and turned off Directv and switched on AlJazeera. I am about to just give up on pay to watch commercial, tv.

They do have 2 channels, 751 & 752 for the Olympics Soccer and Basketball. Although I guess you mean map the rest of the channels to channel 753 on down.

Yes thats what I mean. Wouldn't be hard to do really, since they would just be remaps of current channels.

Setting up my favorites with just channels that could have Olympics on. Are these right? Missing any? Did I include any that won't have Olympics on?

11 - NBC (local in SF Bay Area)
    355 - CNBC
    356 - MSNBC
357 - CNBC World (will this ever have Olympics??)
    603 - NBC Sports Network
604 - NBC Sports Alternate (will this have Olympics??)
    604-1 - NBC Sports Alternate HD (???)
    751 - Soccer
    752 - Basketball

    Miss any?
    Include any I shouldn't?

And several of these channels are the ones listed in the Sports Mix channel 205 & 750. So it is almost the Olympics Mix Channel.

I'm not seeing 406 or 407 Telemundo even selecting All Channels in order to add them to the Favorites list. It says channel not available - I can get Telemundo OTA - but any reason I can't add it?

You need a satellite that gets 119 for Telemundo, *and* you need Telemundo in your package (like a Spanish base package or the En Espanol addon)

Thanks. Oh well, I do get it OTA from Tijuana in very good HD.

The recent non-DirecTV specific discussion of NBC's Olympic coverage has been moved to the TV Show Talk forum:
    NBC 2012 Olympics Coverage

This will leave this thread for discussion of DirecTV channels and issues.

    Enjoy!

I wish Directv's handling of the Olympics would have been as thorough and professional as they way they handle things like Wimbledon and the Open. The Sports Mix channel is just silly. Why would I want to view the Sports Mix channel that is showing five channels that aren't even carrying the Olympics. It shows up on 205, 600, and 750 too. Is it really necessary to have three of them.

I am one of the lucky people who live in a city of a half a million people but still doesn't have local channels in HD. I got to watch the Opening Ceremony in standard definition on KGET last night. Looked great! ;) I have been trying to find a replay of the Opening Ceremony in HD on 237, 355, 356, 603, 751, or 752. Has anyone seen or heard anything about a replay?

So here's a thought: if these events are all going to be tape delayed anyways, why not just put them on D* VOD? I'd much prefer that and it seems like a happy middle ground. Include the ads if you like.

I set up QuickTune for the Olympic Channels.
And a Favorites list for them.

I just don't understand how DirecTV is not able to get the Olympic Mix channel right, and they are mapping that channel in three different places. How difficult it is to arrange the channels in those boxes?

Yeah. I don't care if they are SD or HD since I wouldn't actually watch there but it would be a good way to see what is on.
