If I read that right, they are giving choice subs the U, but taking away classic?

Wow, interesting trade between ESPNU and classic. Why would they do that?

That's the way it reads to me also. And since I'm still with the TC package, I won't have either. :(

Yup. IMO Classic is worthless anyway.

I believe you're correct. But that's OK with me, I don't think I have ever tuned to Classic, but I always see stuff in the listings on the U that I want to watch.

Many times when live events go long, they move or start the scheduled one on classic, so not so worthless to me.

It was already posted in the previous thread why they are doing that.

Darn! No ESPNU HD for fall SEC football? I hope all of the ALABAMA games will be either on CBS or ESPN HD instead.

DirecTV, please bring the HD channel online by August.

Not in time for college football season.

ESPN gets ESPN U moved out of the sports pack and D* still has a ESPN channel to help subs for the sports pack.

I think he's referring to a thread which has been active for quite some time about ESPNU HD and this story was also mentioned in there today before Stuart locked it. Oops, Cowboy, correct me if I'm wrong.

This is most likely because they won't have the bandwidth to support ESPNU HD until D12 get launched in late September. So the 1Q 2010 date doesn't surprise me. You will probably start seeing a lot more stuff coming online in HD around Christmas.
