Directv app doesn't recognize HR24 receiver

    My Directv app doesn't recognize the HR24 receiver. I have the receiver connected to the Internet through a router. The IP address for both have 192.168.2.xxx. When I manually enter the IP address in the Directv app it says searching for receiver. Any suggestions?

    I would try these steps first and see if things start working after each one.

    1. Reboot your HR24.
    2. Restore your HR24's network settings to default and re-run network setup.
    3. Reboot the iPad.
    I have my home network on the same subnet settings as you and things work fine. I think something just needs to be "kicked" in gear.

    What app are you referring to? iPad, Android? Is the device you are running the app on wireless? If so make sure your router is set to allow traffic between the wired and wireless sides of your internal home network. Some setting like WLAN isolation.

    Have you run the network test to verify that the unit is "connected"?

    I did what you said but still can't get the Directv app to recognize the HR24. Any other thoughts?

    Can you press the [DASH] button on your HR24's remote and post what it says? Also, can you give us the IP addresses for you iPad and HR24?

    Another thought... Are you sure you have logged in to the iPad app using the DIRECTV account associated with the HR24?

    That would help with troubleshooting.

    So you're not using SWiM and you have CAT5 connected from the HR24 to your wireless router right? The same router that the iPad is connected to?

    I just want make sure the iPad and the HR24 are on the same network.

    The IPad has an IP address 192.168.2.101.
    The network IP address when I go to menu>settings>info & test is 192.168.2.100.

    That may be but what he's asking is if they are hooked into the same router. You can have 2 devices setup in their software to be on the same network but unless they are physically hooked up to the same network they aren't on the same network.
