I came home, powered on the receiver and it said I was not authorized to watch this channel. I tried a few others and they were all unauthorized.

I figure, maybe something happened and I need DirecTV to reset them. Knowing I can do this from the website I logged into my account only to find the following message on my home page.

Your account is scheduled for disconnection, please call 800-xxx.xxxx

So I call and the CSR finds the disconnect record, but is puzzled that there is no backup on who or why the service was disconnected. My payment on the 24th had been applied and I actually had a balance of $25.00 due to the disconnects.

So the CSR put all of my receivers, packages, etc back on my account and everything is working. But left unexplained is how the service got disconnected. The CSR let me put a password on the account that should hopefully prevent this from happening in the future.

I have been hounded constantly by Time Warner and my apartment complex to switch to cable. While I have subscribed to Time Warner internet for many years I do not want their TV and have declined.

Is there any way Time Warner and/or the Apartment Complex could have put in the disconnection without my authorization? DirecTV had no answer other than it must have been some type of random glitch. But I am still suspicious.

This account and the equipment are part of my personal account which predates my moving into this complex.

I thought that the CSR's ID was always logged by the computer into your account records if the CSR accessed your account. If so, then Directv should know the CSR that entered the disconnect request.

I have had this happen a couple of times, either zapped my service or changed my programing. Annoying, but not a big deal. Usually a CSR was just sloppy and terminated or changed your service instead of the person above or below you listed on the computer.
