There are plenty of Premium channel viewers who'd disagree with you. Especially since it took so long to get the ones we have now.

While I don't subscribe to any premium movie channels I think they should of been the first to go HD and include as many that are HD. I know if I did subscribe and as a result pay extra for that privilege I'd be honked off at the current situation.

No programming on Directv is free, even the lowest package (Entertainment?) costs money. And each step up the service ladder costs more. So the subscriber paying $29.99 deserves just as much value for their money as the person paying $99.99.

That's a good point. However, one could argue that there were dozens of HD channels added before the Premiums were added...years after they were promised. Personally I think the basic HD channels are currently a better HD value than the Starz/Encore package.

I understand people want basic HD channels but so do premium subscribers.

I agree that it all costs money and maybe I'm not looking at it correctly but we'll have to agree to disagree. Actually since I don't have any premium package I would hope that it's the last (no not really I'd like them to hold off on RSN) to be added but one would think premium means premium and D* would offer the best there just to lure subscribers.

I would love to see Encore channels taken out of premium-movies tier and made available in the basics package that was called Total Choice Plus (whatever DirecTV calls it these days).

Encore is available in Choice Ultimate, which is $5 more then Choice Extra. As a a matter of fact, you can't even order Encore as a separate premium package, so they are considered to be basic channels. Movie channels, yes, but in a basic package.

Encore channels can only be gotten by subscribing to a BASIC package, being Choice Ultimate. (Yes, and Premier of course)

Now unless you consider Choice Ultimate to be "not basic enough" (and with that also channels like Boomerang, NHL Network, Chiller, Cloo, which are all also only available through Choice Ultimate) the encore channels are BASIC channels, available in a BASIC package.

As I said in the post above: Movie channels, yes.... Premium channels, no. They are basic movie channels.

You also get the Encore channels if you subscribe to Starz.

Encore is also part of the Starz Super Pack for $12.99.

I still want BBCA in HD to be next up, and by next I mean really soon, not D* 'soon'!! :)

And as a boxing fan, I'd like to see Epix come on since they are doing more boxing these days.

Dish put the ENCORE channels in America's Top 250 about ten years ago.

Don't know why he bothers to post his dish has such and such all the time. If he was a DIRECTV sub he might know that the ENCORE channels are available in the Choice Ultimate package, you don't need a premium to get them.

Let's not start discussing each other. Discuss the topic, report a post, or let it go and move on.

Wonders why certain DBSTALK members who are DISH subs spend a great deal of their time talking about DirecTV on DirecTV threads instead of enjoying the marvels of DISH Network?
