If DirecTV added Nat Geo Wild to the HD Extra pack (which they won't) they'd remove the SD channel.

But they can't just do that for channels that are only in SD now.

Sure they can. Would they? Highly doubtful.

DirecTV has added CIHD to the HD Extra package... which does have an SD simulcast... just not on DirecTV.

Nat Geo WILD is not available in SD now. Fox Reality is...

    I agree with Jeremy!

I have no knowledge of DirecTV's plans for ESPNU-HD, however last year at an ESPN press conference held after signing their big deal with the SEC, their stated goal was to have all providers on line in time for the 2010 SEC football season.

I'm not expecting much from NatGeo Wild. I think it will be competing with those programs where a guy teases a cobra into striking then ducks back real fast, and similar. Nature documentaries for our 21st century. Yecch.

    Middle...
    Fixed your quote.

NatGeo is a great channel as-is. The stuff on NatGeo Wild will probably be a little more high-quality than, say, Animal Planet's incessant reruns of "The Crocodile Hunter." But if not, I already have 150+ channels and 3 TBs on the DVRs. There's always something else to watch. :)

Kind of sounds like it will be like the other animal channel. I guess if you are into animals it will work for you.

It has also been said that things and time tables changed with the delay in the launch of D12. Then there was a week of "there should have been another press release" posts.

Every word out of posters who have a great track record of being right seem to tie the U to D12. In fact, this thread could probably just redirect to thread 1 of the d12 thread. :)

Then again, I also think that the Vs thread should be the responsibility of one person who posts weekly "D* and Comcast are still bickering like little kids. No news. The fans of B and C list sports are still hacked" (Full disclosure - I am one of the fans of the C list sport cycling).

You keep hammering on that one... you know that press release was issued before D12 was delayed. D12 delayed, ESPNU-HD Delayed. End of story.

You know, that is important for somebody to tell me now and again. I work in a home office. Months roll together. :D

Seriously, for me, I am redefining the term "soon" to be the time after D12 parks at 102.nn but before subscribing to the National HD thread pays off again.
