but there are like 5-10? 15? missing RSN HD / upcoming RSN HD.

also some of the FSN sub feeds / part time HD may go Full time Soon as well.

I personally have been pointing at 2Q myself since last fall. Make no mistake, I'll be disappointed if we don't get some significant new HD in larger numbers than "1 or 2" before June 30th.

And I don't mean to nitpick. But I do take seriously the idea of appropriate context and the way cycles impact it. Certainly you hear words like "seasonality" (only one instance of the cycle phenomenon) in many discussions of appropriate context.

So, how'd D* do on adding new HD 1Q this year vs 1Q last year, for instance?

Not necessarily appropriate context? I could agree.

The HD Anticipation threads here at DBST have been quarterly based. Why? Anything to do with how D* thinks about adding new HD channels? I haven't heard that arguement made, nor supported. Almost certainly "it just grew'd that way" here at DBST for ease of discussion.

So what is "an appropriate context" to think about cyclical time periods where D* adds HD? I don't know. I'd be willing to entertain discussion on the matter. I'm pretty sure quarters don't have much to do with it. Possibly calendar years do (and then again, maybe not so much).

But without a firm basis in experience for picking dates that are actually relevant to how D* thinks about the issue, then anybody is just "cherry picking" to suit their agenda.

Mostly arbitrary ... it just seems like a good time to reboot the thread. Most of the "anticipation" early last year was knowing that D12 was being placed in service with people guessing what channels would be added.

BTW: The number of posts in the "anticipation" thread vs number of channels added in that quarter is a good study. :)

That question was about 90% rhetorical (I've "Gone Mod" myself once or thrice), but thanks for the confirmation, and the additional insight. . . .

Yeah, but "I Don't Know" is on Third.

Little bit of a bobble in the middle infield there, as "What" is on Second, not "Which".

TNT showed a bunch of TruTV original programs a few months ago when a race finished early and all of them were in HD.

I've grown tired of staged "reality" shows like Hardcore Pawn.

Then don't watch it...I'm tired of overpaid football players who whine about everything that doesn't go their way
