I agree with coolman, would you please provide screen photos for proof. That would be great!
I do hope the info is correct and if so Thanks!

Or perhaps even better if we could get a yah or nay from SatRacer!

I'm always open to new sources of info, we're all a team here.

We do the best that we can with the public data that we have access to, and personally I only post when I have something factual (that's publicly available) to base my comments on.

In this case, maybe it's true and the poster has access to some special engineering cards, with info that neither gct/P/dr J nor myself have been able to see.

gct did post on Thursday the latest full mapping across all transponders (I only look at a few), but his spreadsheet doesn't provide any hints either, at least none that I can see.

Except today we have HD, superb monitors, and DVRs to whisk through commercials. I'll take today, thanks.

I seem to remember seeing stories pop up every once in a while along the lines that the DVR and tv industry are diligently working to prevent viewers from fast-forwarding through the commercials and that in the future that option will be disabled.

Perhaps its better to say that naturally one would like both. The superb classic film making of yesteryear along with the modern home entertainment technology of today.

But "given the choice" in a world where you can seldom have all the cake and eat it too without compromises, I'll certainly take today as well of course ... ;)

HBO has been "getting it done" on original programming a lot longer than AMC, tho AMC's overall track record is starting to look more impressive all the time.

Game of Thrones and Treme rock tho in the here and now, every bit as much as MM and BB, for my tastes. GoT maybe a bit more, as it is so unlike anything done before on this scale for a mature audience.

If they achieve that dubious goal, and I can not defeat it for less than $5,000, my TV watching will be 10% of what it is now.

There are some commercials that I'll watch, for fun, education, or just cause I'm not paying enough attention to grab the remote. They'd lose that! I am sure they are quaking in their boots, but what ones I do watch may be valuable to them.

At the same time, I doubt that'll ever be successful.

This is already a reality on ABC and NBC On Demand channels on D*. But so far the commercials are just promos for other shows. I'm sure that will change. (Comcast does the same thing on it's broadcast network On Demand channels.)

No confirmation either way, but I say it is false. The poster has disappeared, probably sitting back watching everyone foam at the mouth.

I agree. There hasn't been any new carriage agreements for any of these channels. TCM 2 is British, channel 270 is currently an infomercial channel, and E! was confirmed a week ago. Who is this "DBSSTEPHEN" guy anyway? Checking his posting history, I find it weird he didn't have a single post in 2010, for example.

Distant Network feeds for The CW. In other words, channels 394 & 395.

Some of us do not have access to The CW in HD via DirecTV or OTA, so they are two of my most wanted channels.

I had The CW in HD for several months back in late 2010/early 2011... it was GREAT! :)
