Does Universal Sports currently have a linear HD?

I've seen people thinking there is one with another Comcast/NBC Universal progrmmer, Chiller, but that isn't true.

Also: DirecTV and Starz Entertainment LLC reached a new contract last year, in April, to expand carriage of the Starz/Encore multiscreens to include IndiePlex, RetroPlex, and MoviePlex. Those first two are on my list because I don't believe 2013 will pass while they don't get added to the lineup of DirecTV.

If the rest of the Comcast/NBCU and AMC Networks channels go HD, along with "The Hub"... I would be super happy.

    It has to happen.

So, too, anything remaining which needs to get added in HD from the brands of Discovery Communications (not just with The Hub HD but including Miltary Channel HD).

I will be very interested to see, outside ones currenty carred in SD, whether newer programming from Comcast/NBC Universal also gets added to DirecTV. I'm referring to Esquire Network (a rebranding takeover over for G4) and ASPiRE TV. Sean "Puffy" Combs is launching a new channel with Comcast. Consider that as well. But for those currently available in the DirecTV lineup — Oxygen, PBS Kids Sprout, Style Network, and TV One — that is what I would imagine being dealt with first.

Yes. Universal Sports HD launched in June of 2012.

Yeah, 38 max minus the 22 already added since March of 2012. . . 16 max spots left attributable to the new encoders.

Which is not to say they couldn't do other stuff as well if motivated (like reclaiming some of the "push" transponders), but that requires a change in policy.

Things like overflow had to be available prior to March of 2012, so I consider them no net change. Tho Pac 12 could impact that if it comes, as that might require them to bump their part-time capacity. Today I chase Fox Sports North Plus all over the guide, particularly now that MLB is back and NHL and NBA still going. The NHL lockout pushed the end of the hockey season back a couple weeks, which is creating a little temporary heartburn.

According to AVS Forum, Sundance HD is available on Dish. Any chance Directv will add Indieplex HD or Retroplex HD?

Sundance's HD feed launched a while ago, it was just Dish that added it yesterday

I agree with Universal Sports. With all the recent developments, I'll be shocked if FS+ is still around in a few months.

This thread gets a lot of latitude. We realize everyone has their favorite channels but lets not repeat the same comments over and over again.

You have any insights on what they are planning to do with FSC+ ? I subscribe to that channel since it started out as Setanta Sports.

I could see it going to a rugby channel personally sans the $15 a month fee.

Also a nice little club member perk, along with helping the site.

I also sense the remaining programming of FS+ will seamlessly transfer to FS2 if and when it launches. There won't be too much of anything on FS+ after the EPL goes to NBC this August aside from the FA Cup, Glasgow Celtic, rugby, and additional UEFA matches. All of which would find a place on the new FS channels.

Wife and our friend have had GSN on for a few hours now. It's embarrassing that DirecTV is part owner but its stuck in over compressed SD only.
