it seems to be HD now can we get CLTV HD As well?

They launched HD last year. It is a local and will be on a spot beam but it is news because it is a cable only local channel. Is this is first for non-RSN?

On DISH Northwest Cable News is carried in several markets in the west (Bend OR; Eugene, OR; Missoula, MT; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Yakima, WA). Weatherscan is carried in four markets. Perhaps the first for DirecTV ... and if in HD certainly a step forward.

The local report makes it sound like they are in talks with Dish as well. Newschannel 8 is owned by Albritton who also owns WJLA ABC 7 in DC. WJLA is for sale. Don't know if NC 8 is part of the potential deal. Word is Sinclair is the leading bidder.

Why isn't that surprising? Just another way for money collecting.

I wish they would add this to a national transponder, but it sounds like it will be only on a spot beam.

As much as I hate Sinclair, they are a successful operation and they are busy grabbing up local stations when everyone is claiming local stations are a dinosaur (see what I did there...Sinclair/dinosaur...you gotta be old enough to get it). Seems they don't think they are going to lose influence in the near to mid range future.

Unfortunately the chances of that happening are slim to none. Unlike Newschannel 8 which is run by WJLA, NY1 is owned by Time Warner Cable and News 12 is owned by Cablevision and both refuse access to any direct competitors like FiOS TV, U-Verse and RCN. News 12 even uses "Only on Cable never on FiOS or Satellite" as their tagline.

    Hello tonyd79,

I am old enough to remember Dino the big green Sinclair dinosaur. For those younger than us who do not remember him here is his image. [IMG] :)

Must be an East coast brand. We never had them in California. I did see Sinclair when I was visiting relatives in Maryland.
