This list only adds to the frustration experienced by cable subscribers who live in other DMAs and don’t enjoy an equal wealth of basic HD channels. To illustrate: Comcast in Philadelphia offers History International HD and BBCA HD; neither currently is available to customers resident in Monterey CA. Nevertheless, my “anticipation” is I likely will be able to access them on Comcast well before DirecTV completes its negotiations, assuming contracts ever are consummated. On the other hand, I can't foresee Comcast providing the full compass of sports programming furnished to me by DirecTV.

I think the point is how often one posts one's 'grievances', and what degree of finger pointing or whining there is.

    Just my take.

You are right, there is nothing wrong with asking for more basic HD. And I hope you will be rewarded both soon and often this year. (Or at least soon and a couple times this year.) :)

    Cheers,
    Tom

Posting lists over and over and over does what? He won't even acknowledge his inaccurate statements about the lists.

Also, cable lists from different areas is utterly pointless because cable varies by area.

To answer your direct question, no I don't have all the channels I want in HD.

As for how your question is phrased, I disagree. Even if I had all the channels I wanted in HD, I would still want other posters here to have the channels they want in HD and I consider that important to talk about too.

I agree that the numbers argument is generally pointless (a real numbers count won't mean we have AMC HD, BBCA HD, TCM HD, etc. any more than a bloated numbers count), but DirecTV's use of numbers by since D11 launched has been used to obscure the comparative lack of additions of basic true national HD channels. I think it is important to say why numbers don't tell the complete story.

ESPN Buzzer Beater and BIG TEN 2-5 are part time.

also are the HBO (SAP) channels real channels or just HBO with (SAP) as default audio.

Duos handles parttime channels oddly. They dedicate a whole channel to buzzer beater even when it is off. And they carry masn2 full time here when all it is during off times is a dupe of epsnnews.

If you know anything about Festivus, you know that it requires the "airing of grievances". Posting other provider's superior HD offerings could be considered the traditional "feats of strength" Festivus practice.

I hear ya, man. But I don't recall that the "airing" part need be 24/7 for months on end.:hurah::D

And pretty sure the boasting part has to be about one's self, not C*mcrap or D*sh.:sure:

I'm going to guess that FS North is going to need a second part-time HD channel this Fall as they are picking up an additional 25 Minnesota Wild games, and probably will have some schedule conflicts because of it.

I have a VOD from Ch *DTV 9981 called the borgias Sunday's at 10 pm, expires 4/12. It's only 5 min long, but in HD. Is this one of those push VOD channels?

It keeps playing the same Showtime commercial looping for 5 minutes.
