Well, whatever is coming, while I will be grateful to receive it, likely isn't on the same order of magnitude of what came last spring. . . because they *did* pre-announce that publicly at their website.

Correct. None of the companies I do business with owe me an explanation for anything they do as part of their business strategy. Nor do I expect them to tell me their future plans. Why should they?

Not really. Every channel I watch (except one) has been in HD for well over a year (maybe 2 years).

The exception is AMC and I only watch one program on that channel for a total of about 20 hours of programming per year.

I'll be glad when it comes, but watching 20 hours of SD programming per year isn't the end of the world.

Now, I am happy for others when more HD gets added (whether it's AMC or not), but I've never been egocentric either.

    To get new customers?

Many, Many reasons to tell of future plans

Sure, there's reasons why a company might - that's totally different.

    I don't EXPECT it. Nor should I.

Just wow. Sixto provided the channel mapping on the satellite. How the heck can e be off target? He is reporting what is there not making any predictions.

That is like saying your thermometer is wrong because it doesn't tell you the temperature tomorrow.

And SR has given us accurate information based upon current projections.

I think you have no idea what you are talking about and are just blathering.

And where do you get this from? SR has not said that things are not coming and sixto does no predicting.

I know of few who do that at all. Hell, if they start building a bank on the corner, the sign out front has the builders and financers names but not the name of the bank until it is almost open.

Apple says nothing until they have their press conference.

    Tons of examples.

Exciting customers for something you don't have yet just leads to disappointment.

Then just admit it....yes we are D* "the HD leader" but sorry we can't bring you the HD you want at this time. We are adding a few pay channels tho. Please stay tuned and were see again around September. Until then enjoy the expensive commercials we have for you. You must surely realize what the hard to find mini giraffe cost you....*cough* I mean us.

This could be the worst post in this thread. Directv with a 2010 ranking of 116 on the Fortune 500 list is using a few employee(s) on a random cheerleading fan site to HINT at the addition of new HD channels, come on that's truely pathetic. Directv is quick to announce 3D channels, why the hate for regular HD channel additions ?

Exactly which channel is it we don't pay for again? I have to pay to get anything from D*.

D* panders to the higher margin customers by adding HBO and MAX. How dare they? Have you ever noticed how the really neat features come to the Lexus prior to coming to Toyota?

Comcast on my area will be adding 61 hd channels before June, they will have about 10 hd basics channels more than Directv, will compare my options by then, hope I hear some good news from Directv
