So where are the new basic HD "choices"?

    Here's how I categorize "choices":
HD that cost the customer more money.
HD that does NOT cost the customer more money.

Yes, more is good. That is a no brainer. However, when is the latter "choice" coming?

Even SR indicated end of April or early May, and on my calendar...that appears to be *soon*.

I'd venture to guess that it's much more than a few people. Since Directv hasn't added any hd that isn't basic in quite a while, many people are unhappy about that. That doesn't mean that they aren't happy with Directv in general. I am among that group. BTW, you haven't answered my question here:http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=2763249#post2763249

Cost which customers more money? They can add whatever they want and it won't cost me any more than it does now. If anything, it will add value to what I already subscribe to. If you want more HD channels, subscribe to the package that offers them.

I'm just about out of patience dude. My bill went up this year. What "I" got in return was OWN in SD. Other providers continue to add basic HD. The former basic HD leader (DIRECTV) has not added basic HD in close to a year.

All this whining against premium package is ridiculous. It's like going to a restaurant, ordering a main course and complaining the wine is not included. Cable and Satellite TV are not free, you pay for a basic package and have the option to add extras, like any other business. The alternative is to charge $ 180.00 for the basic package and include all the premiums, not giving you the option to pay less .
If you have a better service for less money, by all means you should go for it and change your provider but it's gonna be hard to find nice food with wine included at low price.

Any non premium customer will have to open their wallet if they want more HD. That represents the majority of DIRECTV customers.

The majority wants new HD too. I really don't think that is asking too much.

Has nothing to do with anti premiums. It has everything to do with the lack of new basic HD. Add 50 million premiums for all I care. Just don't neglect basics in the process.

Welcome to life as a customer of a television service provider. If you want more, you pay more.

If I was out of patience, then I'd switch instead of repeating myself ad nauseam.

Then, what HD channels are you waiting on that makes Fios greener?

Not really waiting on any of them. FiOs will cost me less with bundling and provide a better picture. The only thing keeping me from them is the fact that I cannot take it with me

    Two reasons:
    One ETF
Two FiOS not in my area

ETF = cheaper than paying your monthly bill when you're not getting what you want.

Will you complain/note/state repeatedly about their lack of basic national HD, too?

I appreciated the members who voice displeasure with what is missing...while also acknowledging the many new channels, features, services that have been added. With few exceptions, most have that balanced viewpoint.

    Few points:

It may seem harsh if I say, "Switch providers." I just mean no service should make you upset or frustrated.

DirecTV isn't the best, I realize this and recommend pick what's best for you and the family.
