DirecTV has heavily promoted the Reelz Channel before. Complete with a specific DirecTV jingle ("Channel 238, That is Reelz Channel!"). How's that working out?

It's not working out for me. It's SD so 1) I skip over it and 2) SD channels aren't on the iPad app.

Exactly. Promotion does not equal HD.

No the day it launched in HD. Being in HD gets more eyes on your channel.

Some people won't watch something if it's not in HD some don't care. The discussion of preferences is probably a discussion for another thread so lets get back to discussing our HD anticipation.

The moment Directv fires BeIN and ESPN Deportes in HD may be the time i'll subscribe to the Spanish package - heck, I may even finally move my behind and try to learn Spanish, although I do speak GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL :) That said, Fox Deportes in HD would beat these other networks, as Fox Deportes has the rights to Copa Libertadores, which can't been seen anywhere else. Perhaps Directv will wait until the winter to add Fox Deportes in HD, as the Copa Libertadores has just ended.

We still need Fox Deportes Hd but something is something.

A grain here ,a grain there, will soon make a loaf.

Would still like to see Telemundo channel 406 in HD since D* does not pick up my local. Also a couple of sd stations like Estrella TV,Cine Mexico,De Pelicula would be nice.

EDIT: What is the usual average time frame a channel goes from HD testing to showing up on the actual guide and listing? Thanks.

There is no set time frame, it could be anything from a few days to over a month.

There are plenty of reasons to subscribe to the En Espanol Pack, but both beIN Espanol and ESPN Deportes in HD will be S-W-E-E-T. Now I guess it is only a matter of time before the network feed of Telemundo HD and Fox Deportes HD are onboard.

And bring back GolTV HD! If not back on the Sports Pack, at least give it to the people that are paying $15 more for En Espanol to see an English channel. Gol TV has come back strong when everyone left it for dead after BeIN got the Spanish La Liga rights. Gol retained the German Bundesliga and has now added the Dutch Eredivisie. They also carry the first choice Argentina game (the other nine games are on TyC) and a couple of Brazilian league games. But BeIN Espanol HD and ESPN Deportes HD is great news to get while the DTV installer is mounting the dish on my roof as we "speak."

New to DirecTV after getting sick of cable not adding any HD channels and missing so many sports channels, I'm going to have so much more HDTV.

My Top 10 of wants would be GSN, FXM, Sundance, Military, Reelz, IndiePlex, RetroPlex, Encore Drama, OuterMax and The Hub.
