You are also taking total audience which is essentially meaningless.

18-49 #s are the true deal.

I have no problem calling channels "wastes of bandwidth"...

... though I do not begrudge anybody who wants to watch those "waste of bandwidth" channels access to them! ;)

That may be so, but I imagine DirecTV has a fair amount of subscribers over the age of 50.

Based on the recent Sony-Damages deal, I'll say Sony 2 HD movie channels will be added close to their October 1 debut. (Probably in the HD Extra Pack) As I said sometime tonight, I still hold out hope for AMC HD within the next couple weeks. On that channel, the pressure has really been ratcheted up on D*.

As for Satelliteracer, his posts are the only ones I make sure I always read (Sixto is a very very close second.) He certainly skips threads when the ground swell is against DirecTV while posting in others. I don't really blame him for that. His cards are on the table. Everyone knows he works for DirecTV and he can't be expected to get into detailed discussions that his bosses might find too sensitive. My bigger problem is with customers who act like they work for DirecTV and the very small middle ground who often seem like they work for DirecTV but do not reveal a conflict of interest.

My point about SatRacer in my last post was he's not going to tell you "bad news" or list in order which channels D* would like to add next or even what D*'s true market strategy is. He's going to present information in a way that that sounds the most favorable to DirecTV's customers without committing himself to anything. That's his job and I don't criticize him for it.

While the above certainly entered my mind when the "Damages" deal was announced, we have to remember that negotiations were with two different departments. Granted, it's possible one department washed another department's hands, but my excitement has been diminished.

As for your other comments, I'm not going to go into detail since we are discussing another member who isn't currently speaking up, so I'll simply say that I agree with you on parts, and disagree on others. We'll leave it at that...

I'm not wrong & I didn't remove numbers. AMC's numbers stayed consistent over the year because they spread out their 2 highest rated shows so they don't overlap. Here's facts on how the numbers are last week.
~Sunday night AMC had 3.879 million viewers.
~AMC averaged 1.031 million viewers for the week.
~In order to achieve that average, then AMC has around 0.56 million viewers every other night (Monday through Saturday).

In terms of channels we get next, I'm just giving my most likely guess based on current events. All things considered, it seems like we should get TRuTV at some point too.

On the other topic a respect your discretion. I do wish this forum would officially ban the word "tango" though.

Since D* is part owner, and with the recent channel change, I think GSN will be the next HD channel we get
