Yeap. I really liked it. A lot of exclusives, Iron Man, Star Trek, etc.

I used to be anti-Epix, ;) but it has some decent titles.

Honestly, I'm not anti any HD. Unlike some here who cry out, "WASTE OF BANDWIDTH!" at every HD channel they don't watch, I on the other hand, realize we all have different taste and welcome any HD.

What makes Epix so special ? I took a look at the programming and found the same movies we see regularly on the other movie channels. The "coming soon" movies are available for rent and most of them already shown on other channels.

Probably that the movies on the other channels are going to disappear as soon as their contracts with the three studios that own Epix expires...if I read my hollywood news correctly.

What makes AMC HD so special? A 1 hour week HD show that's never cracked a 1.0 rating of the key 18-49 demographic? :)

Iron Man, Star Trek, Precious, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, G.I. Joe, Lionsgate titles (Crank2, Transporter 3, etc) have all been released on Epix exclusively. Showtime has lost their contracts. If people only rented movies, there would be no need for HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, TMC.

    18-49.

But probably wouldnt of done that 18-45 either since the show skews older. :D

Yes...with Iron Man, Star Trek, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, G.I. Joe, Transporter 3, etc. all being cropped and zoomed in order to be in the wrong aspect ratio.

    Lovely.

C'mon... Breaking Bad is a great show and Rubicon looks very good on the "first look". Unfortunately, I am not part of the 18-49 demographics. :(

Recent post from D* Twitter page:

"We expect to have news on FSC and FS+ HD soon. We'll pass it on as soon as we can."

Hopefully "soon" is in time for the start of the EPL season in August.

It must be nice to be 50... so old you no longer matter in the eyes of the world... ;)

In all seriousness though, AMC also has "Breaking Bad".

It's too early to tell how "Rubicon" or "The Walking Dead" does, and WAY too early to tell how "Hell On Wheels" will do... but as long as it's in SD only on DirecTV, you won't see me helping out the ratings...

While I personally wouldn't watch AMC for movies, the fact of that matter is, I've seen AMC on DirecTV's "What's Hot" (movie section) TVApp more times than I've seen HBO/Cinemax/Showtime. Granted, AMC isn't on there as many times as I've seen LMN, TCM, or Encore Western, but enough to know that AMC certainly has it's viewers on DirecTV.

You think you're cable HD is bad/behind? These channels launch tomorrow in the Dallas - Ft. Worth area on Time Warner. Granted, AMC is a cool add, but some others are pathetically late. This DMA is huuuuuge, too (DMA #5).
