They offer NFL ST for free to new subs every year.
That's what I was thinking. They just word it differently or have a similar offer. It used to be buy ST & get free Premier for 5 months.
Ya i know. I was agreeing with maartenas statement about having more basic HD isnt the way to go (isn't profitable) since E* has been adding basic HD like crazy in the last year but theyre still losing customers yet D* hasnt only added a few basic HD feeds in the last year but still in the black. NFLST is their trump card.
The past few posts on here have hit the nail on the head - Time Warner Cable in my area has nearly EVERY cable channel in HD. The list is ridiculously long and astonishing. I was more than happy to give it up for Sunday Ticket and NFL Network. I know that many people don't care about sports, but so many do. I really want Nat Geo Wild HD, HLN HD, Cooking HD, IFC HD, H2 HD (and many others) like TWC has, but having the channel in SD is better than NOT having other channels at all. I wish Directv had ESPN College Game Plan in HD... and the ESPN Goal Line channel.
TWC here does also, but to mirror what I get in the Premier package, it would cost me around $150.00.
No they don't. This year is the only one I've heard of and it paid off big time with new subs. I know at least 3 people that took advantage of it that I work with.
Two years ago you got 3 free months of premiums and that's all.
Good point. We were paying almost $180 with TWC (for TV and internet). Now, it's $44 (D*) +$39 (TWC internet). Even after it goes to non promo if we keep the premier, it'll be $120ish + $39. Still cheaper. If I somehow manage to convince the other half that we don't need all the premiums, it'll be a lot less.
In 2007 I signed up under deal where I got free Premier for 6 months for signing up for ST.
But the real reason I signed with D* was because of Hotpass. The ST deal was just an added bonus. I have been happy with D* ever since.
Now that's a switch! Usually, it's the other way around!
What planet are you on? I know of atleast the past 5 years nfl Sunday ticket has been free to new subs, or atleast the premier package. The cost of the two are the same so either way you look at it your getting one or the other for fee for the same time!
I tried that with shoes once.
i am shocked that ESPN Deportes isn't available in HD . . . i mean they can get an alt channel, but not ESPND?
That goes for Dish. I don't need to know what dress someone is wearing. We don't care!
You won't want to try a second time.
So... the thread is sort of falling asleep again. Is it safe to assume that there will be NO new HD additions before the end of this year? After all, there is only 7 weeks left.....
Absolutely no inside information, but I would not be surprised a performance contract that compels a party to do so by January 1st.
The alt channel isn't a 24/7 broadcast, just a place holder. It is shared with other services and only used when needed.
How many pages a day are to be expected in quarterly threads? Weren't there past ones with at least 180 pages, which would be two per day?
We're approximately 40 days into this current thread, and so far there have been 20 pages. Which means one-half a page per day has been the average in this current period.
My guess is that there are people who have given up.
