G4 is no longer relevant. We'll have to see how the new channel goes next year.

H2 needs to go HD. There always seems to be something good on it every time I check it but I don't watch it because it's SD.

If you have a decent internet connection, check out their VOD page. The programs you're interested in may be available in HD on it.

True Alan, but I personally hate watching TV shows on my computer monitor.

VOD is viewable on your TV.

On your HRxx, go to H2 On Demand on channel #1271. Nothing but HD content...

Noticed a new software update on my HR22-100 early this morning. Any idea what the update was for?? Thought maybe some new logos (230,264,289,304,639 etc) would have been added, but no such luck.

Since I originally sat down (Jan 2010) and figured out what HD channels I would still much like to see added D* has added 4+5 (AMC, WGN America, BBCA, TCM + my 5 Rochester, MN LiLs - just today!) and deleted 1 (G4). So one way or another they have addressed 10 of 14 in nearly 3 years. Pretty good. Getting so close!!!

My remaining HD desires (in order):

    RFD-TV
    IFC
    Outdoor Channel

    and for the Mrs:

    QVC

I'll give you We and Lifetime as self-declared channels for women, but when did Bloomberg and Headline News (now HLN) declare themselves channels for men? And classifying the Cooking Channel as a service for women might also be considered a misconception of the target demographic.

Even if we get no more new HD this year I think 2012 should be considered a good one for DirecTV HD customers. Not a ton of adds but some good quality.

Even though its not channels we also have to thank D* for all of the new HD VOD that we now have including HD for channels that still are in sd like H2 and Cooking.
