No one has a accurate crystal ball and D* holds their cards close to their chest. Usually we get some indication about a week before a channel launch. Sometimes more, Sometimes less.

Yes they have, all the Showtime VOD content is now equal to what is available from Showtime Anytime. This recent updated also brought a huge increase in the amount of HD content available via Showtime VOD.

Don't they do that ahead of time before they do if any negotiations come up after they publish their magazines?

There's an NBALP freeview this weekend too. Maybe they're trying to make up for the lack of NHL.

Uverse access for Starz Play and Encore Play was added earlier this week. Hopefully Directv will follow suit any day now.

We should just skip 4k all together.

I wouldn't skip it, but we really should worry about getting the rest of the SD feeds in HD. 5 years from now when 4k is the norm we can be complaining about how poor the HD quality feeds are to the 4k ones and how DirecTV doesn't care about customers and 4k "basics"!

8k will be out and running smoother than 4k will be from all directions in such a short time, the life cycle for 4k only won't be that long. I suspect it will be similar to hdtvs without the atsc tuners, only even more expensive. I see no reason for it to be supported in the us. Let other countries play with it and let's use the time to transition all systems off of analogue and sd feeds, which almost all able systems and dtv uses. Get that spectrum cleared up, and by the time that's done, 8k will be ready To go. If you start pushing 4k now then getting rid of that sd stuff on cable and sat will take.longer, because they will only invest so much in so many places at one time.

Just my opinion, but really, 4k displays will be so ridiculously expensive and I think 8 k will come in and have less expensive stuff than any 4k will ever be, and I think that it will happen fast.

Just as that point of reference...there was an 8K HDTV at CES this past January...so it is on the minds of manufacturers.

    To quote Fred Rogers:

"I like to compare the holiday season with the way a child listens to a favorite story. The pleasure is in the familiar way the story begins, the anticipation of familiar turns it takes, the familiar moments of suspense, and the familiar climax and ending."

Here's to more familiar HD happy endings in 2013...

FYI, DeadlineHollywood has posted estimated top 20 cable channel rankings for 2012. The 2012 List is very similar to 2011's, with no major shakeups. USA is #1.

Chiller HD??? hmmm, I don't find any sources on the web that indicate that Chiller is available in HD. Not on the ChillerTV website, not on the ever-so-reliable Wikipedia page, etc. This one just doesn't sound right.
