Yet Netflix has surpassed their viewership number and recommended by many on Wall Street as a good buy. Their future expansion seems more positive than DTV.

I currently have Redbox, Netflix and Amazon and I would rate N#1, A#2 and R. a distant third. My free month with Redbox is about to expire and so should their service. Their nothing but a weak copy of Amazon and Netflix. Netflix's streaming service offerings are more varied than Amazon. Its the TV series that attracts me to Netflix. Amazon continues to expand their catalog of movies which is nice. Maybe they should merge services.

    Which cable company?

(I'm not asking anything of your specific address, mdavej. Just the general area.)

Charter. They still suck in most parts of the country, and their DVRs are laughable, but my market is one of the first to go all digital, and it's a night and day difference. HD lineup is amazing, as is the PQ. Maybe this kind of competition will put more heat on DirecTV.

Who? Me? Yes. I have Netflix streaming and DVDs. I also have Amazon but that is because I have been a Prime customer for shipping for years. Streaming and free Kindle books. Amazon streaming is a bonus to me. I am trying Redbox and may keep it for a while not so much for the streaming but for the DVD credits (silly me, I still prefer Blu Ray quality and don't always want to wait three days).

Anyway, I find that all three are hit and miss on a lot of material. For example, try to put together a collection of animated DC comics movies. You need all three in both the streaming and DVD configurations to even come close (and even then, a few are still beyond subscription).

And I thought I was being a tad excessive with my entertainment mix. Our setup is almost the same. :righton:

That makes 3 of us except that I use Hulu Plus instead of Redbox.

Tried their free month and for the most part it was okay. But the commercials and freezing up on my older Roku boxes made me weary of their service. We love Brit Dramas and comedies, so we have Acorn TV.

how about adding Fearnet HD. I had it when I regretfully was duped into a cable package a fews years back ( won't do that again),,

I want it to become added to the lineup of DirecTV.

I've mentioned here that there seems to be something going on between Comcast/NBCUniversal and DirecTV.

FEARnet HD would come after Esquire HD (which replaced Style Network HD), Oxygen HD, PBS Kids Sprout HD, TV One HD, and Universal Sports HD. Not because of importance, or lack thereof; but because those programmers' SD, unlike FEARnet's, are already carried by DirecTV.

It's Fox Life, and it's not a new channel, it's just a rebranding of Utilisima to match the name Fox uses for the channel in Europe and Asia. It's only available in SD.

Hard to be excessive in the company in this forum. Lots of complex setups and lots of multiple services.

How is the PQ for Acorn TV? We also love British TV shows and $4.99 per month seems very reasonable.
