Rumor so far...but if it is to be...we'll see some changes this coming week that will likely show up in the Sixto thread.

"Another" site? Are people here afraid to mention Satelliteguys? Dbstalk does a great job at what they do, and so does Satelliteguys. There is room, and a need, for both.

Slimoli has been saying that for weeks. . .the question is, is there anything more behind it than what he has. For all you know, the post over there was from a guy reading Slimoli over here. . . the internet is very incestuous that way.

Pulled from a James Long post:[IMG]
I know if i was with Dish, i wouldn't be bummed on what D* had that they don't. I am bummed, that as a D* sub, I don't have the channels that Charlie has. I don't want to leave D*(can't anyway due to contract) but c'mon D* shore up this disparity of HD offerings!:new_cussi

Wow, looking at that chart, how can you still say that dish has more premium movie channels?

If we are gonna talk lists then according to hoosiers list its:

    DirecTV: 197 HD
    Dish Network: 167 HD

I think dish should shore up on their HD disparity.

See i can spin #s too.

Dish has more HBO & Cinemax channels than DirecTV.
DirecTV has more Starz & Showtime than Dish.

Dish has more HD Extra channels, but charges more as well.

It all depends upon how one looks at it...

    Who needs or wants ESPN?!

As much as I like Oprah (and found the jokes about her weight to be offensive), I can't say I will be watching the channel, as it does not appear to have any programming of interest to me. However, I'm sure there are those out there who would like it.

Can we please leave numbers out of it?

DirecTV has 2 "national" HD channels that Dish Network does not have that I care about.

Dish Network has 17 "national" HD channels that DirecTV does not have that I care about.

Those are the only numbers that matter to me...

I know many women who like ESPN. I know many guys who don't.

    I've never gotten the appeal...

    YES! ;) :D

Seriously though, I have no problem with self-deprecating jokes (like on "Mike & Molly"), or jokes when the people are in on it, but I just find the cracks to be in poor taste otherwise.

While I could stand to lose a few pounds, I don't think anybody would make a crack about my weight, but I have friends and family who struggle with weight issues, and I just don't find the humor in it.

I apologize for bringing us off-topic, and hope we can now get back to the topic at hand: CHANNELS!
