Very true. The next time they launch a new satellite we won't have to bother to count the days until it goes active.

Im actually past the patience point. An update, good or bad, would be nice.

I've gotten used to not expecting anything. How bad is that? I don't watch PPV channels, they are not in my custom guide. I assume at some point we'll get some new 'regular' channels like we all want.

What satellite is used for the sports broadcasts HD channels? A lot of them are needed for baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. Is any of that usage related to a lack of new 'regular' channels?

I noticed Sixto didn't have much to report.

Yep TomK...I agree! IMO very disappointing statements regarding Directv the self titled "HD leader"! Someday......

In all fairness, 2010 had much higher expectations due to the activation of D12.

I don't usually engage in DirecTV bashing when it comes to a lack of HD additions but I am pretty disappointed so far. AMC, IFC, BBCA and a couple of extras would help to alleviate my disappointment.

They are beating the competition with ease.

There are many things that I love about Directv. Overall I still believe they are the best option for me. On my personal list, there are probably about a dozen or so basic HD channels I would really still like to see them add.

As you said I just had much higher expectations due to the activation of D12. :(

Do not expect much more for quite some time.

Perhaps a good philosophy...even if it shows up *soon* before year end...just think of all the anticipation anxiety some folks will avoid. :D

Please, oh please Mr. Sweet...don't start a First Quarter 2011 thread. Let everyone spread their misery to more narrowly focussed threads that burn brightly, but die quickly.

Not when it comes to "basic" national HD. DIRECTV is getting smoked by DISH. No way around that fact. :D
