I will echo the WOW!! It finally works on MPEG4HD and looks good. CPU runs 20% - 40%, I am running the Radeon HD2600 video card which seems to be a good thing judging from other posts. For the record mine is the AGP version.

I restarted my laptop to see if that would have any effect on the issues I'm experiencing, but there is no change.
I considered restarting all 3 HR20's to see if that would have any effect on the issues, but I will wait until after the new CE comes down tonight.
If there is no change in the status by tomorrow morning,I will send in diagnostics reports and record the transactions in the private Issues thread.

BTW,I still have v4617 running on our HP Slimline desktop.
I took it for a spin while a little while ago.
Playback with v4617 is still performing flawlessly on that PC.
v4617 worked just fine on the laptop too.

Everything seems to be playing very good so far on my end. I have tried my desktop and laptop and both played with no issues at all. I was getting the same results with prior packages, but as mentioned, the draw on the system is considerably less.

New version is working as well as last week's. I'm considering to try it out again on my Viiv PC.

Perhaps the next CE will resolve some of the issues being mentioned with v4628.
All prior releases of the D2PC software have worked just fine for me.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled 4628 3 times, still not seeing any improvements on my end.

What [for me] seems to be greatly improved, is the CPU loading. If you are using a dual core CPU, then it won't be that noticeable, but for those of us that have tried to run this with a single core CPU and upgraded our video cards for h.264 support, the "wow factor" is quite great.
This improvement alone will increase the number of customers that will be able to use this significantly.

In regards to the dual core CPU you speak of,that is what I am using.
AMD Turion 64x2 is the dual core processor for this particular laptop.
Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150.
The laptop is maxed out at 2GB for memory.
It just seems to me that something in the 4628 software is not "jiving" with my laptop, for some reason.
I will reiterate this point again, all other versions of D2PC prior to 4628 have performed very well on this laptop.

I may need to load this on my PentiumD with nVidia 6600GTs. The Advisor showed this "accelerated" though the card doesn't have any h.264 support.
This version utilizes the video card [GPU] much better than the older versions, and so far I've only loaded it on my weakest PC, which is what shows this big improvement.
Could this "improvement" be at the expense of the older method [coding] that was so CPU intensive?
Do you have the latest nVidia drivers for your laptop?

AFAIK,all drivers on the laptop are currently updated VOS.
In regards to NVIDIA and their updates in particular, whenever I go through their site to do any updates, they always refer me to HP for any available updates.
So,I go through HP for all of my laptop driver updates.

The current version is 178.24 and this is for a 6150.
Sometimes ATI/nVidia drivers don't always work with integrated video chips.
I didn't see the same message about going to HP/Dell, etc. here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_178.24_whql.html

"I think" if your driver is 174 or newer, it would be what I'm using on my PentiumD system.
Check it out and post here. If you do have it, then I'll "dust off" that system and see what it does.

174.32 is what shows as the current version on my laptop VOS.
It also lists DirectX 10.0 in the NVIDIA info screen too.
But,I will download and install from the link that you provided in your previous reply. We'll see if that will change anything in my laptop.
I'll be back later and let you know if anything changed with the re-install of 178.24.

Downloaded 178.24,tried to install with no success.
Incompatible driver was the reason given for the installation error.

Status quo still here. The worst channel, NBC, is running just as it would if it were being broadcasted. Picture and audio are perfect.

After experiencing so many issues with the latest Betas of D2PC,I went back to v.4526 to see what would happen.
Well, v.4526 is working flawlessly on the laptop.
I have no idea why the latest Beta versions won't "co-operate" with the laptop, but they just don't work for me.
If there are further incarnations of the D2PC Beta product,I will give it a try in the future.
For the time being,I will stick with v.4526 because it works just fine on the laptop. :)
