    Dripping...
On my HP laptop still can't play anything, get the popup about turning off screen capture (can't find where do to that) or update drivers (has the latest that I can find from HP and the vendor).

Reminder: Double check your video drivers. Doug and I both found things much better with upgrades.

    Newest nVidia drivers for Vista.
Content protection issues with MPEG-4 Planet Earth and nVidia 6600GT video cards, connected to two analog ViewSonic monitors.
    MPEG-2 Planet Earth plays fine.

    Download/install of 5426 went quickly.
Start to finish time of the process took less than 5 minutes.

Playback of SD content went by without a hitch.

Playback of The Dark Knight HD from HBO gives me an error message, stating the audio driver needs to be updated.

I am running 5426 on my new HP HDX 18 laptop.
The audio driver is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.

I went to HP's site to check for an update for the driver, went ahead and re-installed the driver and restarted the laptop with no success in regards to HD playback with this version of D2PC.
I'm still getting the same error message from D2PC.

    Any thoughts,suggestions folks?

I had to stop downloading the latest nVidia drivers and revert back to 7.15.11.7545 dated 8/22/2008 through Microsoft Update because the new drivers were screwing up the BeyondTV using the OTA tuner in the PC. But the older drivers work well with DIRECTV2PC so I'm happy for now. Maybe I'll play around with it some more later.

I too have this and my work-a-round is to disable the digital output device [right click on the speaker icon in the sys tray, then select playback devices and right click on the digital output, which is where you can disable it]

I have set it up and when I tried playing the Penguins of Madagascar I get this message:

If I choose SPDIF Interface, instead of speakers is still doesn't work. I have my speakers setup via the analog out puts. The video is setup via a DVI-I. I could potentially set it up with HDMI, if anyone thinks that is potentially the culprit.

Downloaded and activated with no problem, first attempt I selected a show on the HR20 from BBCA that I had started watching previously on the HR20. It had a resume button, I clicked it D2PC locked up solid. I was able to end the process but it had hosed my DNS so I had to reboot the PC to get that back.

As with (only) the last version....it recognizes my HR20-700's just fine...but not my HR21-200....no matter what I try.

That unit is on the same network as the others, and works perfectly with MRV.

I had the reverse, where my HR20 would work with DirecTV2PC, but not be seen with MRV. I reset my router in the end to fix this.
Seems like DirecTV2PC & MRV are using different ports.

Tried the router reset, and even port reassignment...no go with the HR21-200.

But thanks for the suggestion....I haven't given up yet putzing to get it to work properly. Sad part is...everything else on the HR21-200 is working quite well for some time now.

No joy with VOS's workaround. I'm considering getting a different sound card but I'm not there quite yet.

Edit: Disabled SPDIF out after reading Smiddy's post in the discussion and all is well with the world. I may recommend a sound card check as part of the test software. Maybe it would have caught this?
