While that's a nice little list I don't believe it's going to be much when compared to what DIRECTV will have to offer. Sure, Dishnet has had time to put in a few channels here and there, I'm sure DIRECTV could have but I have a feeling they've been setting it up so that when the new sats are ready to be switched on it will be an instant and smooth process.

Looks as if Dish is pretty maxxed out while DIRECTV we'll just be seeing the tip of the iceburg.

    Patience.

Several of Dish's HD channls came from when they absorbed Voom as well. They are mostly the niche HD channels on the list.

Eagle, you participate (insanely heavily) in the HD anticipation and tech threads. You know the answer to your own question about "why ain't directv yet?", so it would be nice, in my opinion, for you to stop doing the clutterbombs of the forum...

Dish won't run NFL sunday tix, so they already have the extra space those games would normally take up.

Their new spate of HD offerrings is almost certainly due to the fact that they did not land the MLB extra innings package this year...which may leave some unused space. (oops...forgot to consider RSN duplication!)

They routinely run less pay-per-view, which makes for even more space, and what....60-70 of their channels are music, with half being in stereo and half not...yes?

Different offerings. Different companies. Different strategies.

    You want 3 identical choices?

    Closing this thread...

As it is a moot topic, and subject to change in the next two weeks.

And the intent of the "post" was to incite, not discuss.... as the OP has been around long enough, and participated in enough other threads to know the answers...

    And what the future holds.

    Any comments or concerns:

PM my Forum boss: Chirs Blount.
