Damnit. Another post turned political.
Turned? Both of these announcements were political in their nature as BOTH movies are highly political. The mods probably should have combined the threads and closed it immediately.
Cue Wednesday, when we will get the ripped off/na-na-na-na-boo-boo threads.
I'll be glad when it's over. I'm getting 10 calls a day telling me to vote and who to vote for. The federal and state no-call rules don't apply to political parties. And I already know who I'll be voting "for".
I don't know about the Don't call rules for sure. Someone called my Mother, asking If I had voted. My number is on the do not call list. Hers is not. Go figure! Anyhoot, I did my part. I voted two weeks ago when I got my absentee ballot in the mail! The two posts should be combined, but left open to deposit gripes after Tuesday! That way I see it after Tuesday, Kerry can stop at absolutely nothing like he keeps saying and shut the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks up!!!! (sorry for the re-used line, NOT!!!!)
If there was none of the above THAT would get my vote. I am sick of the mess and once the preliminary count is in we will ALL be sick of the lawsuits and counter charges. Theres not going to be a clear winner
ELECTORAL COLLEGE MUST GO!
The post was about the documentary airing. All the argument bull should be in potpourri.
Without the college we will have nationwide recounts. Every vote, every precinct. The national popular vote in 2000 was within the margin of error that triggers an automatic recount in most states.
BTW: In 2000 a snowstorm hit and the apartment complex I lived in lost satellite service for two days because they didn't clean the dish. Got cable? At least I know where my dish is and it will be swept, if needed.
DBS is better than relying on cable signals.
Stolen Honor; Wounds That Never Heal" will air on Dish 457 at 8:00PM EST and on Dish 455 at 8:00PM PST Monday 11/1/04. I paid $23.00 for the DVD, and let me tell y'all, it's well worth seeing. After you watch it, you will have a much better understanding as to why the Swift Vets, POWs and many thousands of Vietnam veterans despise John Kerry. Me among 'em!!!!
Enough of the partisan bickering. Here's a link to a hilarious non-partisan view of the upcoming election. Enjoy.
yes simple you are wrong on that one this coming from some one who has been in the south all my life and these good ole boys you know the hate everybody who ain't there type which is country ignorant folks who could care less about the facts just that bush says he is a Christian well they are all republicants
hey atleast they could find kerry when it was time to fight
Huh? Maybe I could sell you some punctuation or other indicator of literacy.
Its just too bad. The republicans dont see that Bush is all for the wealthy and doesnt give a damn about the average working shmuck. Your just good for tax dollars to support a war and for giving up your kids when its time to do the fighting. After all, what did his tax cuts for the wealthy do for you? I bet at least 1/4 of what he gave back to the wealthiest 1% went directly BACK into his pocket in the form of campaign donations. Im sure they are kicking tons of cash his way, cash he gave back to them.
Dont be blinded by stupidity when it comes to voting. Its actually embarassing to talk to people from other countries about politics. The whole world knows that the leader of the free world has the IQ of a sewer rat.
Moving to Potpourri. Political arguments don't belong anywhere else.
I watched the part of it that Sinclair Broadcasting ran on channel 47 in Madison. Some POWs said that they were confronted with Kerry's words by their captors. Others say they never heard of John Kerry until they got home. Bottom line on this, some vets are angry about Kerry's testimony and some, like John McCain, have either gotten over it or agreed with him that Viet Nam was an ugly situation. Those that are angry have every right to their opinion and I don't begrudge them of their opinion. The two former POWs who appeared on the show seem to be saying that they were treated worse as a result of Kerry. I don't think that's true, the POWs in Viet Nam were treated poorly from the very start of the war.
Any movie, even ones made by mainstream middle-of-the-road folks like Moore, that provokes thought is welcome. Much better than the usual nonsense that Hollywood brings to us. I'm sure you have paid for worse "crap" than this.
My only wish is that Moore had covered more.
Moore is not mainstream or middle of the road, although some wouldn't mind seeing him in the middle of the road if a semi is coming.
NO! I wouldn't want to damage the truck!
