I am looking for opinions on where to have the installer put the dish this coming Tuesday.

It could go on the roof or on the side of the house. The siding is hearty plank.

Which one has a better chance of leaking? Can the side of the house handle the weight of the dish?

    Thanks in advance!

If you or he can locate a stud (wall), then by all means go with the wall. It will be lower and easier to remove ice/snow when the time comes. The lag bolt holes can be sealed with silicone to prevent leaks.
