I don't care enough about any other team aside from my home team (shut up!) to justify the cost of NFLST. But I love football, and I really enjoyed watching the RZC this afternoon during commercials from 1-4pm and constantly from 4-7pm. I'd pay quite a bit of money for the RZC by itself.

Now, if NFLST allowed you to get around blackouts, that would be an entirely different story.

I think the better question would be would you sub to SF package if HD games were included in the NFLST. The largest reason anyone subs to SF is for HD games. Everything else is just extra and nice.

I would also say I have a suspicion that RZC may drop down into the regular SF package in SD if the NFL RZC proves to be as popular as people are talking about.

Just? No. But it is constantly on (with audio) in my multi-tv setup. It is the most important ST channel to me. If DirecTV offered RZC in the sportspack, I'd seriously consider dumping ST if I can't haggle the price down as I did this year.

I rarely turn on the RZC on Sundays... and never really have. I like to focus on a couple of games that I have interest in and watch those games.

RZC does nothing for me other than show me scores... but there's a lot more going on in a game than scoring. There's strategies, missed opportunities, all of which I like to stay on top of in the games that I'm interested in.

They could give me RZC for free, but being remote from my favorite team, and having a significant interest in NFL Games, I focus on the Sunday Ticket, and am more likely to watch the mix channel than watch RZC.

No but it's a huge bonus, I sub mainly to watch my niners but when they are not on I watch RZC.

I'm a 49ers fan and my wife is a Dolphins fan. We live in Portland OR. So while I like the redzone channel I'd still want the full package to be able to watch all of our teams games when we wanted to.

I voted "No" because the Red Zone Channel is wonderful for catching up with other games when my game is in commercials. Also, as more and more of my Jaguars games have been blacked out (likely all 10 games this year) RZC gives me a chance to peek in on the Jags games that otherwise would be unavailable.

I put "Did not sub at all" as I did sub last year just for the RedZone channel but it is just way to pricey for the whole thing just for the RedZone. I will miss it and if they ever offerd it by itself I will buy it INSTANTLY. Dish has my attention as they now offer the NFL RedZone channel!

As I think it is insanity for Directy and NFL to make you pay twice to get HD games and RedZone - Screw that!

The poll doesn't get at the heart of the real question. I've subbed to ST since 1998 because "I want to see all the games", but since the inception of the RedZone channel I find myself watching it more and more.

    So,

"Do I sub to ST just for RedZone?" - No

"If RedZone were available outside ST would I stop ST and just get RZ?" - Quite possibly, depending on the price dif.

This poll is one those that seems to prove the complete opposite point than the one intended. The only thing you can read from it is that subscribers on this forum would rather get Sunday Ticket/Superfan for $300-400 than get one channel for the same a mount of money. Many people here are arguing that D* should carry the new Redzone channel carried by other providers at a greatly reduced cost. I've seen very few people, or anyone at all, claim the Red Zone channel is alone worth $300-400. This poll supports this conjecture and explains why many fans are upset that D* doesn't offer the allegedly less valuable RedZone only channel that their competitors do.

As for whether D*, as opposed to their most ardent fan base, consider the new Redzone channel a threat to their current subscriber base, I believe the evidence suggests that they do. If D* believed that the new Redzone channel wouldn't cut into Sunday Ticket/Superfan subscribers they would offer the channel because it would attract a whole new audience that are willng to pay $7 a month but not the price of the full football packet. This would raise revenues. That they don't do this strongly suggests DirecTV believes a decent amount of subscribers to the new channel would come from people dropping Sunday Ticket/Superfan.

The only other explanation is that the NFL is contractually not allowing the new Redzone Channel to be shown on DirecTV, but I would need to see prove of that to be convinced.

Same here. I would get Red Zone but don't care enough about any one specific team, which I think you need to have in order to subscribe to ST.

Loved watching the Red Zone channel during the free preview, and I would sub to it separately if offered. However, I'm a 49ers fan, and their games are always on TV in my local market. And with the games on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, AND NFLN I don't feel the need to spend more money for even more games.

I subscribe because I want to watch my crappy team (raiders) and i cant get the games on the east coast. I seem to be in the minority, but I dont like the RZC at all. Its like watching tv with my wife. She changes the channel every 15 seconds. THe RZC kind of gives me motion sickness. I like to be part of the emotional ebb and flow of a game. I can watch highlights at 3 in the morning on ESPN. I like the drama and and excitement (or in my case, the crushing pain of defeat)that only a full game experience can provide.

Last year when I had ST I discovered RZC-HD and all I could think is "Why am I wasting time cherry-picking games when they're all right here?". From that point on I would set a recording for RZC-HD and a couple of other games. About an hour into action I'd start watching the RZC recording and rarely, if ever, felt the need to watch the other games. Why would I since I'd pretty much seen everything of substance? All killer, no filler.

DISH Network offer RZC-HD in package that adds $5.99 to your monthly bill. I would be all over that like white on rice. If my local cable provider, TWC, were to offer it (2 chances, slim and none) then I would seriously consider defecting. I'm in my teams home market so I don't need the whole package, but I would love the opportunity to follow every game as they happen on Sunday afternoon for a nominal fee. DIRECTV doesn't want to do that.

No I watched the HD Mix channel the most, but honestly RedZone would be enough for me. I really can't afford Sunday Ticket this year so it would be nice to just watch RedZone. Kind of disappointed it's not an option on DirecTV, but I do understand why. I think a lot of people wouldn't subscribe to ST if they could get RZ.
