It could be a service exclusive to Directv customers and allow them to watch all the Cinema On Demand titles unlimited for maybe something like 12 extra dollars a month.

Good suggestion. But it would have to be reasonably price if this was possible.

HBO, Showtime, etc. would never agree to that. Why would anyone subscribe to their package if you could download all of their stuff for less money?

Wasn't there a 'plutonium' level of service many years ago that included that?

Seems like it was $7K a year.

Help me out here, I'm old and can't remember stuff anymore, LOL!

I think there was. And I believe it may have been $7,500 per year.

Yes there was a package which included the ppv channels. It was called the Titanium Package, which has not been avail for a long time now. Like it is mentioned in another reply, the cost was like $7000. a month

If I remember correctly the purpose of that package was not to gain lots of subscribers, but instead to set a "value" on unlimited service to be able to go after people using hacked cards for damages. Since the newer cards have not been hacked, the package is no longer needed.

There are plenty of people who add HBO and other premiums for the original series alone. I don't think they would be too worried about it.

The only thing is the cost. It would need to be much higher than $12/mo.

The premium channels are not in the market of showing new released movies from the theaters like D* Cinema. They focus more so on their series than actual movies they have. Their is still a market for them for shows like Game of Thrones (HBO) and Borgias on Showtime.

I've been away from DirecTV for well over a year, but if the DTV prices are similar to FiOS $12 a month will get you two new HD movies. I'd expect the going price for unlimited to be much higher than that.

Original series or movies, content is content. Why does it make a difference? With hbo, you can download all the series if you have download access.
