Does the HR-22 Require BBCs?

    Thread title pretty much says it all. I was just sent an HR-22 to replace an ailing HR-20. I looked in the HD DVR comparison thread, but there's no mention of the HR-22. Thanks.

    If you had them on the HR20 then yes you do need them on the HR22.

    Yessir only the model HR23 does not require BBC's

    They key is (as jimmie57 noted) IF you had them on the HR20 you do need them.

    You do NOT need them if you are using SWiM technology (and would not have had them on the HR20 in that case).

    Yep.. I have an HR-22 and HR-24 and each requires BBCs.

    You require them, but he may not as the others have said.

    Also, for the OP, if your HR20 was a -100 and had the whole splitter setup, you can get rid of that part.

    But, I am betting that since he's asking, then he will need them.

    Thanks, guys. I had 'em on the HR20, and they're now in use on the HR22, which is up and running.
