Does upgrade to MRV/DECA/SWM reset my 2 year committment?

I have an existing DirecTV installation and three HD DVR's. I want to add MRV and will need to have the SWM and Deca installations done. Does anyone know if doing this upgrade alone (i.e. not requiring a new receiver) will reset my 2 year committment?

    Thanks all

No. Even receiver swaps to get SWM compatibility do not have a commitment, only upgrades.

Yes, receivers that are incompatible with the SWM system that need to be swapped out do start a new commitment. 12 months for standard swaps and 24 months for advanced equipment swaps. I saw the incorrect post here and was compelled to finally create an account and post the correct information.

Edit: that being said, assuming you don't need equipment swaps with your receivers (i.e. aren't old hr10-250s), the mrv upgrade itself will not come with any sort of commitment, just $3 more monthly

H20's since they don't have Ethernet capability that are upgraded have been known to trigger 2 year commitments.

    No receiver, no commitement.

I didn't get new receivers. Confirmed I am not in commitment.

    Not correct.
No receivers swapped = no commitment, any (H or Hr) swapped receiver due to incompatibility with MRV gets you 2yrs.

I was referring to swaps for SWM compatibility (i.e., D11->D12 or R15->R16), not a swap for MRV (which indeed would trigger a commitment) although, having re-read the original post, I see that only HD receivers were mentioned.

Swaps for SWM compatibility (i.e., D11->D12 or R15->R16) do trigger a commitment: 12 months for the D11->D12 swap and 24 months for the R15->R16/R22 swap.

"Yeah" any receiver swap [for any reason] triggers a commitment.

I "heard" that if you so much as sneeze funny during a Whole Home install you get two years...

I have an HR20, HR21 and HR23. I spoke with DirecTV on Friday and they have me scheduled for the MRV 'upgrade' in a few weeks (my calendar issues).

They said nothing about swapping out any of my receivers, so I assume they'll work. I'm only being charged a single upgrade fee of less than $100 and I confirmed that this does not reset my committment date.

    Thanks!
