We don't have a dog but our cats WILL watch a nature show with lots of animals, especially birds. They have to hear the interesting sounds first and then they will watch it.

My wife has a DVD or 2 that is nothing but birds and they will watch it. We very rarely get it out so I don't know if it would get their attention if it was used often.

So dog experts out there... what will this channel do that a DVD set to repeat won't?

In broader perspective, this seems to be right in line where everything else is going. Nearly every channel and every show is getting to be the same story repeated over and over again with different locations and actors. Movies are mostly this way too - to the point of trying to bring back ancient stuff. It's starting to feel like paying to breath oxygen.

The wife and kids already hog the remote... don't need a dog to do this as well.

    Sherman...
Conan O'Brien had a clip of Dog TV on his show last night.

The only time my cat has really responded to something on TV was when there happened to be a barking dog on a show (she tried to get as close as possible, even putting her paws up on the entertainment center, to investigate).

Maybe I should subscribe to Dog TV for her.

Two solutions: Get an iPad, then override the remote. Or get another DVR and your own screen!

I am definitely going to try this channel. My dog is bored with baseball and procedurals, doesn't care for the news unless there's barking involved.
But he's an outdoor pet; he'd much rather chase lizards and snap at insects.

I was thinking more along the line of a channel for my ant farm.

Only to watch the free preview.

When it turns to pay, no dog, no pet, required!

My dog shows no interest in SD. OTOH, she responds well enough to HD that we keep a careful eye on her depending upon content. We don't want her trying to play with the people running around in the screen.
